Vat of chicken broth made and had for lunch. There's enough for 3 family portions to freeze.
This is the thing that's freaking me out about possible winter power cuts. The chest freezer full of time and money in the garage.
Though apparently It will stay frozen for 24hrs if you don't open it.

If it is full it's closer to 48 hours. Though it will depend on how well insulated the freezer is.

Plus you'll get extra time if the room it is in is cold.

What i mean is in Glasgow in winter you'll freeze to death long before the freezer melts.

It's only about 3 yrs old and so I'd hope it's well insulated. It's in the garage which is pretty cold.

When i lived in London the flat had gas fired central heating. However the controls were electronic and the control unit did not have a battery. It was a combi boiler as well s heated water as it was used. The result was if the electricity went off i had no heating or hot water. There was one particular winter Sunday evening where it went ofc while i was cooking dinner and didn't come back on until about 2.30 am. I ended up buying something awful from a local convenience shop. The flat got colder & colder.
At least here there is no gas so it's not as annoying to lose heating in a power cut.

MORNING!
Earlier I went on another walk. This time, on some of the flat and downhill, I jogged* too. If I keep this up for 12 months I'll be more Zammo than Roland Browning.
*the jog is slower than my walk but hey ho
Looks like the fuel crisis is no more round these here parts. Just dropped the younglings and their friend at the roller skating and passed a garage with no queue and a couple of cars filling up. The price had gone up mind, who'd a thunk it ey readers.
Going to watch the HUGE footy match later.
OTTM, I'm trying to help a friend snare a PS5. Unless you want to pay £700 then they're still as rare as an honest politician.

I have a stack of tins and packet stuffs to last for 6 days, but it gets bloody tiresome putting the new at the back, using the old at the front. The so-called chatelaine system. Bugger, that's another chore: I check the ones at the front and if they are close to a couple of week to going out of date I pack them up and get my neighbour to drop them at the Trussell Trust. Whilst eating lunch I watched a brilliant Royal Institute Christmas Lecture 2019: How to Get Lucky - Hannah Fry, which presages the pandemic ... Theoretically for kids, but UK policy (what policy) about the pandemic would have been much better positioned if the cabinet had been in the audience ...

Part of the problem is that as there aren't enough they are still being snapped upby resellers.
It's the same with the XboxX as well.

Are the bitcoin bastards still buying them and ripping the graphics cards out of them? This guy sort of went the reverse route - this is a PC masquerading as a PS3. It looks sleek and here's his gallery of build pictures. It's clever, and a phenomenal piece of engineering, but why?

Getting a PS5 is almost as difficult as buying an Amiga 3000.

Morning, I ran a half marathon this morning. Much of it was uphill. Pro tip for those who want to be in optimal shape for a long run: make sure you fill your face with spicy chicken wings and garlic bread the night before. Heartburn is a great motivator.
No games

Hello.
Chicken, bacon & leek bake for dinner. Ready to join the Sunday game stream later for more Trails in the Sky SC.
I have been following the live blog at The Other Place on the Tory party conference. Says MP for West Dorset Chris Loder: When BoJo said "f*ck business!" I should have realised that the Tories are true revolutionaries hellbent on bringing down the system. Workers of the United Kingdom, unite even more! You have nothing to lose but your logistics chains! Death to capitalist pigs! Real pigs, lots of them!
I'm looking forward to a return to a time before the industrial revolution and to boiling raw milk I bought from ye olde village shoppe, because they didn't have milk floats in 1715!
Sorry about the sixth form satire. I just don't know anymore.

Morning.
Latest Panama papers seem a bit "meh".
I have also Kid 1 playing Minecraft. This is obviously the first step to him being an FPS playing millionaire.
