What's up, nerds?
This morning a delivery bloke rang the doorbell and beamed me out of the bathroom to hand me a parcel for the neighbours. This is slightly cramping my style because I don't want to put on my sweet cans (as I usually do when doing, well, anything other than talking on the phone) for fear of missing the knock on the door when they are picking it up.
Also had long chinwag about OTTM with another neighbour while her tiny dog was growing impatient as it wanted to go home.
Ocado delivery yesterday with lots of substitutions. Of 2 frozen pizzas I ordered, none were available so they were replaced with pizzas with completely different toppings. Luckily I've never met a pizza that I didn't like*, but it's all pretty random.
Ganes: only time to leave a Twitch stream running whilst doing other things. Streamer was keen to play something Halloween-appropriate and at first tried to get enough points for a witch's outfit in Ape Legs but got bored after a while as the costume was the only concession to the spooky season. Switched to an Indie one man survival game project called Grim Nights 2 but gave up soon after because he wasn't able to restart the game. Then switched to a different Indie called Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion, a roguelike in which you need to get through 1,000 Minecraft-aesthetic rooms. Made it about a third of the way. Neither game floats my boat but it's good we've talked about it.
*actually not true; many years ago I had an absolutely terrible pizza at a dodgy place in Soho because the area where I had planned to go to dinner with friends had been cordoned off due to a bomb scare. If that place is still in business I'll eat my hat with a topping of your choice and it will still taste better than that pizza.

42 billion visits to pornhub in 2019! 4 billion of those are probably by the Met looking for 'evidence'. All the slides (sfw) here. This has to be from a corporate presentation - I'm no prude, but a high proportion of the referenced sites must involve abuse, and yet I have not heard of any determined attempts to get these sites prosecuted for this. pornhub probably uses the same defence as Facebook ... Ape Legs is a popular search on Prawnhub?? I was just watching it on Twitch, I must be doing it wrong. I also had no idea that they do friend requests there. I imagine that could get awkward very quickly. |

Hello again. Today we caught a train to that there London. My first train journey in over a year, and the first time I have used my Freedom Pass since it was issued last September, Freedom is an illusion. Quite a few on the train were maskless, almost exclusively under 30's. We intended to visit the Tate Modern to see the floaty, blobby things hovering around the Turbine Room. it turns out we should have booked timed entry tickets beforehand. So instead we walked along the Thames to Pickfords Wharf and had a pint of beer and a cappuccino in the Old Thameside Inn. You know you're not in a 'spoons when the bill comes to £8.80. However while we were there I managed to book entry tickets to the gallery so we finished our drinks and pootled back over there. We did enjoy seeing the floaty blobby things and wandering around the free galleries. Then we caught the train back home. 4 stars. |

As a serious contender in the Granny of the Year competition I perused with interest Hamley's Xmas top 10: www.theguardian.com/business/2021/oct/14/hamleys-reassures-over-christmas-supplies-as-it-reveals-top-toy-predictions"Barbie's Dream House" at a whopping £310. Yeah, no. Even in primary school, at the same age my granddaughter is now, I understood that this is just overpriced plastic junk with some cheap looking stickers. I got really excited about a Barbie house and I think even my mother was amenable to the idea, but seeing it on display in a toy store instantly killed the hype. Good to know that some things never change. But I feel that I'm out of touch when it comes to " Huggables – huggable Avocado, Unicorn, Watermelon or Koala". Are we hugging avocadoes now instead of smashing them on toast? I feel old and confused. |

Games - Mortal Kombat 11. Great game. So much blood. And good to see in this day and age, they’ve dumped all the scantily clad costumes and gone for clothes real people wear. Gi’s, headbands, face masks…oh.
Tv - The Sopranos, fancied watching it, but couldn’t remember where I’d got to, so restarted it. Finished S1 and on to S2. James Gandolfini is an absolute powerhouse.

I worked in Borough when the Tate Modern was very modern.
£8.80 seems very reasonable for a pint and a coffee. You should have tried the Anchor. You'd think £8.80 was a bargain.

Crank, I’m worried. You’re playing GTA again, aren’t you? I was in bed for about 12.20am Couldn't get to sleep. I wasn't up till half three playing GTA. As far as GTA goes me and my pal are doing the Autoshop heists in prep for doing the cayo perico / casino heists and then fucking it off. Long before I'll get a PS5 so I'm not tempted. |
