The boy has a friend over over school. Their play is good-natured, thankfully. We’ll see how this develops as dinner time nears…

I think we are having some spicy Sichuan style food.
It's just food but ... I'm really excited about it.

Jab jabbed and home in time for tea. Wasn’t expecting a mandatory 15 minute detention.
Crispy chicken, pasta in sauce, garlic bread.

There were 15 minute waits after both of the other jabs, why would you not expect one now?

Different jabs, Pfizer has the wait due to complications while the others were safer?

I was told to wait 15 minutes after both my jabs, in case of unexpected side effects. AZ both times. I dutifully sat in a plastic seat in the deserted Argos in the semi abandoned shopping centre while everyone else just walked straight out as if medical advice meant nothing.

That is correct, although it's all a bit arbitrary. My brother in Germany got both his AZ jabs at the GP and was made to wait for 20 minutes afterwards because of different interpretations of the same international studies by national regulatory bodies. When I sat down for the 15 minutes wait I was told to "give a shout if you feel a bit wobbly". Luckily I didn't feel like a supermarket trolley at any point [ insert Christmas cracker joke about feeling like a pair of curtains and pulling yourself together here]. However, I really wanted a cup of tea at that point. Innocent craving for a cuppa or sinister side effect of the vaccine?

We had the jab at the GPs, the only people asked to wait were people who drove there.
Chinese for dinner.

When I got my AZ jabs I was asked both times how I had travelled to the vaccination centre, and both times the consensus was that I was free to go because if I collapsed the taxi driver could deal with it. That's the good thing about the NHS, they always have your back. Those who were made to wait were all sitting outside and enjoying the sun.

The child is away to Brownies. The pm is walking her down and then is off to drop a hoody off at some pta wummens house.
Do I a) make a coffee now as I want to also pocket munch some Hotel Chocolat err chocolate. But still have a washing to hang up.
Or b) finish tidying dinner stuff, hang up washing, THEN have a coffee/chocolate, knowing I may get captured pocket munching the chocs?
Place your bets lady and gentleman.

C) is wait till the pm goes to collect her in the car and have the coffee/delicious chocs.
No lazy, coffee this late won't keep me awake. Plus I'll be having a couple of beers later.

Don't share the expensive chocolate. That's basic. And won't look suspicious if you get caught. Just say a lady at work bought it for you.
That way you won't get in to trouble.

We've booked tickets to go see Ron's Gone Wrong tomorrow. I've not been to the cinema since before times.
Can you still pay in with an empty Irn-Bru bottle

Is “pay in” some kind of euphemism?
Disgusting, absolutely disgusting.

Actually yes that was the same for me - they asked if I drove to get there before telling me to take a seat. But loads of people from my street were there at the same time, who must also have driven because it is nearly 30 miles away, and they all just sauntered out without a care in the world. I lost a lot of respect for them that day.

Yes, the answer of “yes” to “did you drive here?” resulted in the bum on the plastic seat.
I also spotted people who had driven there walking straight out the doors, and into the sunshine. Protected now, aren’t they? The NHS will pick them up if they should fall.
