The worst part is without the diagnosis I can’t send an email around to all the women at work stating I am unavailable for kissing for the next 10 working days. If you're worried you won't get the diagnosis, just word email in more general terms to avoid any potential embarrassment: "sorry ladies, I won't be available for smooching due to the swollen gland currently pressing against the back of my throat." I do feel like Linda Lovelace after a hectic film shoot.

My favourite comment from the Far Cry 5 (Forfar 4) article in The Other Place: I am surprised I haven't been modded yet. Have they loosened the reins? FRANK must be on holiday.

Evenin’ all. Just moved into my new place. It’ll take a bit of time to get used to living in a city again.

Okay,
I'm back in Skyrim after a brief hiatus. I have killed the dragon in Whiterun, been summoned by the Greybeards and have 'acquired' Lydia the housecarl.
I bade goodbye to Faendal. It was emotional.
I fear Lydia is going to be a pain in the arse.

I don't like seeing GPs, but booked GP appointments are cheaper for the NHS to provide than unbooked walk in centre services. Phoning 111 is relatively cheap for the NHS, and would have saved you the trip to the walk in centre.
Unless you have serious trouble eating / drinking / breathing, or you've had tonsillitis several times, or you suspect you have quinsy or a tonsil stone or cancer, it's probably not even worth a trip to the GP. Have you had someone else look in your mouth to see if there is an obvious abscess or blackening of tissue or growth other than inflammation? (Please don't post photos.) It might get better faster with antibiotics, but you'll probably live anyway. Just drink plenty of water and demand sympathy (not from me, obviously).
