Up half the night. The child had a nightmare about 3am. I then couldn't get back to sleep till after 5.
I was probably too hot in my Werewolf outfit and should have taken it off.

Decided to drop the 15 hour load screens and the same 3 types of quest to unlock a region (AC Valhalla) and start anew with Skyrim (anniversary edition).
Need to get to the Lovers Stone early on, never easy...

Sheep2 why would you watch any of the Terminator films past T2?! Because I need to. I thought 3 was ok as sort of generic sci-fi, but with a horribly miscast lead. Salvation was the opposite. A terrible film, but with an ok lead. I saw the director's interview. It was amazing. He said everything in the film had to have emotional heft. There was no action for action's sake. The film was just a series of set pieces with a few bits of awful dialogue to link them. I am assuming Genysis and Dark Fate are minor classics of the genre. I haven't seen either yet so it a safe assumption. I have some other bad films to watch. And some good ones (I think. I haven't yet seen them) I'm concentrating on the bad ones though. Either saving the best for last or I have no taste. |

Terminator: Firsty is besty Second: OK, but the rest, meh... timey-wimey plots run the danger of endless repetition that eventually makes later iterations unintentionally comic and/or meaningless (As Governor of California) Edit: as will I*; Nursey should be on his way. *I may be a while (not in the heroic sense)...

Morning already? I didn't get much sleep because I was looking for a new laptop on my wobbly, flickering, wheezing laptop. Clearly it's not been taking its redundancy news too well. So I distracted myself by watching the Game Awards with a streamer at some ungodly hour. Results of both activities: This was probably the first Game Awards where I felt that on the whole the right game won. No huge surprises - the new Elden Ring trailer was nice but that game doesn't need more hype. And as far as I remember (and could see on my flickering screen) there wasn't a single trailer that had actual gameplay. Unfortunately I can't wait for that to happen because I need it asap. I'm paying for next day delivery, ffs. It's basically exactly what I was looking for, light and small enough so that I can carry it in my handbag, a Ryzen 7 and a GeForce RTX inside but neither RGB lights all over the keys nor aliens or skulls on the outside. Only a 60Hz screen, but I'm not picky about these things. Will it run Cyberpunk 2077? Probably not. Will it run Windows 11? That remains to be seen. It has taken me far too long to find but fingers crossed it's what I need. And thanks again to Shengers and Crank. |

I love sherry. I can't believe they're putting the prices up. Though really ... It's not a regular drink - a utility drink - so fair enough. The government should put taxes on all drinks up, except beer served in pubs. Stop the unhealthy drinking. Get on with the healthy drinking.*

Morning! I am boosted and flu jabbed, by two burly guys in army fatigues. They are making me wait 15 minutes and there is another army guy at the exit, so I assume if I don't wait the full time they will shoot me to death. The 5g is fucking amazing though.
Ottm: the car is fixed and it was only 80 quid for spark plugs! Result. I expect they are holding back the real money spinners for the MOT in January.

Tenthen that's faster than my laptop and it seemed to play Cyberpunk ok. Mine is a two year old i5 /1660ti combo.
Get yourself an epic games store account if you don't have already. Two free games a week to add to the backlog.
The Acer website says free update to Win11 for that model.
As someone who games on a laptop can I recommend a laptop stand or riser to give a bit of airflow underneath.

Genysis and Dark Fate are worse than Salvation. The ordering goes:
1. T2
2. T1
3. Salvation
4. T3
5. Dark Fate
6. Genysis
I can't stress how bad Genysis is, they try to re-make the first film shot for shot in a painful nostalgia trip and the ending is horrendous.
Anyhoo, kid 2 has chicken pox so an trip to children A&E (she also had a swollen eye) has taken up my morning. Also I now have kid 2 to look after for the rest of the day and she needs to now be kept out of nursery.

The Terminator is good, athough ... I saw it recently in the cinema, as part of a double-bill with Robocop, and - there was a gulf in class. Robocop was much better. Robocop showed The Terminator up.
Terminator 2 is maybe better, although the Edward Furlong character comes across a bit like Bart Simpson.
Terminator 3 is terrible.
