Just heard from our friend Carrie that she's spawned a humanling today. Apparently she's so excited she's been telling everyone, even that git who works at the library. Her husband's been posting about it on his fish pun email webpage too.

The Gunbarrels has gone. Been knocked down. I am not sure what is there now.
There is a new bypass for Selly Oak centre which goes by the reb0uilt QE hospital.
I find the whole thing around Selly Oak confusing and somewhat hurtful.
It is like the road layout has changed every time I go there. I do not have to go round there very often, so it is quite possibly actually true.

Most people aren't saving anywhere near enough for their retirement so the government would have to balance this out by increasing the auto enrolment minimum contributions, perhaps with higher rates for older age brackets. |

Congratulations stxdpr ! I see you have opted for the long way of acquiring grandchildren. Me, I just did a Shenguin™ once removed. None of the hard work of parenting and all the fun of spoiling them. Speaking of which, today I've been informed on this year's Christmas presents trends. This season the Gruffalo, Minions, and Vikings are in, while Peppa Pig, Harry Potter, and unicorns are out. |

Babyscamipal decided sleep was better than food so is now on a strict diet of being fed every three hours. Its the first and the hospital banged on about baby led feeding which didn't take.
Gaming window gone the same way as sleeping window.
Not sure PM can do that as baby came out through sun roof with lots of pain relief.
Tenthen, any news on the snail and the whale or super worm?

I'm not sure how I feel about the new bypass. It's good at spreading the daily traffic jam more thinly, but it's always had the charm of a Vogon highway construction project. At least the Goose at the OVT is still there. Everyone who used to work (or be patient at) the old Selly Oak Hospital is saying that the worst thing about the new QE is that they can no longer pop into the Country Girl next door for a pint. You used to see the Afghan and Iraq veterans who had various limbs missing after a close encounter with an IED having a drink there as they had their treatment, but in the new QE they are just sitting outside in the cold in the smoking shelter. At least after the withdrawal their numbers are no longer growing. Every hospital should come with a pub as a standard, in my opinion. |

I went to Birmingham recently. I took the pm to the magical drinking area of my youth: The Aston Triangle.
The one pub I went to - the Black Horse - had closed. The other - that used to be the Pot of Beer - I just couldn't find.
In the end we went to The Crown, near the law courts. It was very bleak.

I was at the barber the other day - the price since lockdown lifted has gone up from 8.50 to 13.50. I also got told off when I mentioned that I'd done my own hair a couple of times during lockdown, for depriving them of business. A chastening experience all round.

I was at the barber the other day - the price since lockdown lifted has gone up from 8.50 to 13.50. I also got told off when I mentioned that I'd done my own hair a couple of times during lockdown, for depriving them of business. A chastening experience all round. I can never go back to my old barber. It has been too long now. It would be too uncomfortable. I am pretty much committed to the clippers for ever. Or at least until I move somewhere else. |

I went to the barber last week. It's more of a hairdresser to be honest. The price had gone up from £18 to £26. It was empty though, and in central London in the run-up to Christmas.
