Fillums, LA Confidential, not as good as I remembered it being. I thought it held up pretty well. Some of the dialogue is perhaps a little mumbly.

I have just remembered that in lieu of a work Christmas do I have a virtual drinks thing this evening with my immediate team.
I'm hoping some pfizer side effects kick in this afternoon so I can sack it off

A friend has cancelled her party on Friday, which I'm relieved about. I'm hoping we'll go ahead with our work Christmas party though. I'm going to write the risk assessment, and insist that everyone wears a mask except when seated, that the doors and windows are all wide open, air handling on full, that there's no singing, no loud music (which encourages people to talk more loudly and lean in closer). I'm considering limiting drinks to two per person, as people's behaviour is more risky when drunk. I'll pre-load and take a hip flask.
Let the bastards have about as much fun as I usually do at parties.

We're getting one of the girls in the office to lie to the office grump and tell him the Xmas party is off. He's a total sad sack and is into risk assessments and all that rubbish. I will do as I do every year and do a huge poo on his desk, last year he mistook it for vegetarian pate. I also pissed in his hip flask.

For reals: I've just been told that the office Christmas party is cancelled. By the sort of person Baby probably describes as a girl, i.e. an adult woman.

I now have 3 covid passes in different names*. Pretty good. They all expire on 15 January 2022. If I get ill while using one I can always use the others.
More identify theft than Babyfark.
* I have set up and downloaded them for my parents as well.

hi I played Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, last night. And Fortnite ... In the last game of PUBG we won (casual mode), and it felt fantastic. Then one of my co-players said 'Two victories!' and my mind went blank. My mind had gone blank. I had a vague recollection that we had won another game but I could remember no details. Then it came back to me that we had won in Fortnite also. What the Hell? I spent the rest of the night worrying about the possibility of early onset dementia.
Maybe my mind is going.

Also I'm pretty sure my interviewers would have been in contact if I'd got that job.
I'm facing down the barrel of two big negatives. Two barrels of negative ....

Lazy
You'll have to hurry to get early onset anything. That's the good news.

To be honest I've been plagued my blank moments for the past 20 years. I've forgotten the names of colleagues. I've forgotten the ends to sentences I've started. In the interview yesterday I froze one minute into my answer to the first question. A bad business ...
I've put it down to anxiety before but ... having won the (casual) game of PUBG last night I was feeling far from anxious. Maybe the slight delay in recalling the previous game triggered an anxiety reponse?
Who knows?

You know ...
Maybe ...
When I've got to the end in Fortnite usually the words 'Victory Royale' have seared themselves into my consciousness. But this time, not so. I was more pre-occupied with getting my man to sort of ... dance, with a ghetto blaster on his shoulder.
Maybe victories in Fortnite come cheap, and no longer make an impression.
I don't know

Hello.
I'm sitting in a hospital and they've put some refreshing drops into my peepers, so you are all pleasantly blurry. Once this wears off it's time for BDT to preserve the effect.

Eye drops in peepers sounds better than dropping needles into peepers. Lasers sounds the most fun though.

To continue on the topic of haircuts, I've been to the hairdresser this morning. £35 plus £5 for wash & cut. Women's hair, the number one cause of inflation.

I'm not reading all of that, although I didn't mind looking at the pictures. why, just..why?! New heater arrived from Jeff (oil filled) - with a missing butterfly screw to hold the wheels/legs on, 5 panicked minutes later luckily my neighbour had a couple of spare nuts (you heard) that fitted. Result, glorious heat. FYI: It IS cheaper to run oil filled or halogen heaters than a wall mounted storage type, even though storage heaters are a standard utility in my type of accommodation, and has been for over 25 years. other: I remember 80's hair back in my late teens early twenties, I got so fed up with it I scalped myself then kept it short after that. I miss my hair.

No-one wants to talk about early onset dementia?
What about career moribundity?
What about an ennui, with the deep gnawing intensity of a toothache? ...

No-one wants to talk about early onset dementia? What about career moribundity? How about an ennui, with the deep gnawing intensity of a toothache? ... I forgot we were talking about dementia. I thought we were still on the subject of hair loss. See also: failing eyesight, loss of hearing, back pain, aching knees. Ennui is the least of my problems.

No-one wants to talk about early onset dementia? What about career moribundity? How about an ennui, with the deep gnawing intensity of a toothache? ... I had a conversation today about career moribundity and mid-life ennui with a colleague I bumped into at the sports centre. We both moaned for a bit, then agreed that skiving off work to go to the sports centre was absolutely the best use of our time at this point in our lives. Really sticking it to The Man. The next step in the master plan will be to eventually start skiving off the sports centre and just go drinking instead.
