Yes, they got me too. Thought Iβd give Wordtris a try, see what all the fuss is about. All the hubbub.
TVblog: partner wanted to watch the Sewing Bee. So that went on. I then caught up with Fridayβs WILTY. Always good when Bob Mortimer is on.
Warhermitblog: more painting. No way are these five getting finished in January, for shame.

I had a CVR in both of our Duos wins. The first one I carried through from a solo win. The second I stole mid game. I did not kill the player who dropped it. I ambled up shortly afterward and saw it there. It looked shiny so I took it. While Shenguin was busy plotting our win I was busy trying on the crown.

I have 16 CVRs. Mostly I have gained them legitimately. Through winning two games in a row or by killing someone with a crown. It's less than half where I have picked it up from a bush and then let Shenguin win the game for me.
Stealing it and letting someone else do the hard work is a strong power move. I may try this as a (more) regular tactic.

I've seen people wearing Fortnite crowns show up on the compass (I think). I'm not sure if this only happens if a crown gets picked up, because I've only seen it happen at the end of a game.

I've not played the Fortnite for a couple of years at least, ever since I got addicted to Apex Legends. Has it changed much? Do you still need to be a lightning builder to get anywhere?

I think you can play Fortnite and do ok without building, though it does help.
My heart sinks when I shoot someone and the walls appear. Though they usually end up peeking over the top of them.

No. I do not do building. I mean a bit if I have to, but in general I completely avoid it.
You can get on absolutely fine without it.
Someone who is good at building and good at shooting will easily beat me. My main* tactic to negate this is to creep up behind and shoot people in the back. If I am lucky they die before building.
There are a lot of bots now though. It is difficult to tell, but I think if you aren't killing someone in the last ten of a game they are most likely a bot. Sometimes it is easy to tell. I strongly suspect though that the bots are good enough at mimicking human players that a game could be entirely bot except for me and I would not realise.
*secondary. The main tactic is to let Shenguin do it. If Shenguin fails I then have to take over.

Can the bots build?
I assume they can, but donβt. They live by a different code.

I went in to see our local fruiterer. I asked if they ever had βGros Michelβ bananas, but no. In fact the man I asked screwed up his face with a look of incredulity.

Itβs as if the growers of the Gros Michel banana have been scattered and are now forced to grow their fruit in secret.

My guess is that there are a few bots in the game that are designed to look like bots. They are often incompetent, bash down walls for no particular purpose, don't react sensibly to being shot, etc. It is possible that these are just very poor human players.
I strongly suspect that there are then a higher number of bots that successfully mimic human player behaviour, and there presence is sufficient to allow human players to regularly win. The other explanation for the number of wins that I get is that I am an exceptionally good player.
It's even possible that each game "branches" to allow a higher win ratio, so that, e.g. both human players in a fight win it, and both can go on to win what started as the same game.

I've been driving a 1930's Bentley Blower around Mexico, wearing a gingerbread man outfit. I felt that lazybones was there with me in spirit. searching for the elusive βGros Michelβ bananas, whilst consuming vast amounts of Peyote and Tequila. Then the bats appeared. 'We can't stop here, this is bat country', he said. (cont. for 94 pages)

Your face is a massive boil that needs to exploderise. I set them up... Getting a boil means you're eating the wrong stuff... You need dietary advice - ask Dr. Shenguin . And it's Veganuary, or Vaginuary as Gwyneth Paltrow would pronounce it, if you want to go alternative, apparently La Paltrow's candles also exploderise...
