I suppose the conventional wisdom is that Vlad is calculating and clever, as opposed to totally batshit like Hitler, so he will always stop before the cliff edge. But who knows? Maybe he is both clever and completely batshit.

I’m just glad we have a modernised Army that hasn’t been stripped of manpower over the last twenty years, that has reliable equipment, and the most up to date armoured vehicles that weren’t designed during the Cold War. Phew! No worries, as long as they are enough Xbox Series X to go around they won't be needing all that outdated equipment.

In other news I read that the zone demand bars in City Skylines aren't anything to do with zonal demand and more about employement and ratios. gongfarmer - you may want to search this. Thanks for the heads up. I am back at work today, so what better time than to do some research.
Gongville has now reached Megalopolis stateus, and I have 110K population. As a traffic management sim, it's a belter! Time to get the bulldozer out and flatten a few of the problem areas. I am not a benevolent mayor.

Last night I felt a jolt going through the house and thought that it was caused by some structure collapsing. Didn't think it was a tremor because the ones in the past had felt more wobbly. www.theguardian.com/world/2022/feb/22/west-midlands-earthquake-of-28-magnitude-rattles-walsallI was watching the final episode of series 2 of Centaurworld at the time, so I was mentally in a weird place. After watching the first two episodes of series 1 months ago I had found it to be too annoying, but recently I got back into the groove and binged the whole thing. It's hard to recommend but I'll recommend it anyways. You wouldn't know it from the first episodes, but it's really going places.

Phew! Are we really planning to refight the Crimean War? If not the British army is surely irrelevant in this situation. There is no plan to send troops or serious equipment to Ukraine. What are we going to do? Send picture of someone dusting a tank at Bovington? Of course we’re not. But I fully anticipate redeployment to Germany, another BAOR to bolster the eastern flank. And with increased deployments to eastern NATO countries.

The Rhine is not our natural border. Nor is the Vistula. If it is ok for us to occupy countries 1,100 miles to the east 77 years after WW2 I'm not quite sure why Russia can't feel the same about Ukraine which is on its border.

During this fight, I've seen a lot of changing, in the way you feel about me, and in the way I feel about you. In here, there were two guys killing each other, but I guess that's better than twenty million. I guess what I'm trying to say, is that if I can change, and you can change, everybody can change!

Two worlds collide - rival nations. It's a primitive clash, venting years of frustrations. Bravely we hope against all hope. There is so much at stake. Seems our freedom's up against the ropes ...
Does the crowd understand? Is it East versus West? Or man against man?
Can any nation stand alone?

And you’re paraphrasing Putin himself with the “small islands” comment. I also know that as the main European contributor to NATO, as well as being one of the bigger economies in Europe, it is in our and Europe’s best interests to assist in mounting a common, mutual defence. It’s not occupying Germany either. The communities around our old bases never wanted us to leave in the first place, for both economic and social ties.

I'm a big admirer of Vlad's table. Could a man with such a table be untrustworthy? No, I do not think he could.

Did the Germans invite the British army in? No. That doesn't mean that the original occupation was wrong or unnecessary.
