I watched The Northman tonight - Sunday night.
It was ok. Sort of ludicrous. The best moment was the appearance of Willem Defoe as a jester. Is that a spoiler? I hope not ...

I made the mistake of reading my work email last night. I finished on Wed and stuff that should have been fixed while off hasn't been due to fuckwhittery and I'm raging.
This rage is on top of the rage I'm already feeling about having to do a fucking 'health walk' course this afternoon. This is where library staff take mental defectives out a nice walk and then go back to the library to chat about books and the like. Any of you mental defectives want to sign up?
"So would you like to share what you're hoping to get out of this afternoons training?" "Why yes" pipes up crank. "I'm hoping to be hit and killed by a drunk driver while out doing this training this afternoon as the house will be paid off, my work will pay out due to being killed at work, and I'll not have to put up with this shite"

Of course, the useless drunk driver will just maim me and leave me a dribbling wreck. More than usual.

Yesterday I took my bike out for a spin on the country roads for the first time in months. The best thing is the curt nod you always get from other cyclists. It's about the level of social interaction that I can handle these days.
Games: no.
Telly: discovered the Ps4 was offering us 3 months of free AppleTV, so started Ted Lasso and Severance.

Reading work emails on a weekend, that is Shenguin behaviour, are you Shenguin's sock puppet? Amateur hour. Send emails at 8pm on a Sunday, and then greet people as soon as you see them on Monday morning with "Did you see the email I sent you?", no indication of what it might be about, or whether it's actually important. For a bonus point, phrase the email really badly, and then act with disdain and irritation when the victim has missed some nuance. I've been in since 07.30. Egg mayonnaise sandwich. |

I haven't got much chat. I watched a film on Saturday called Return to Oz. It was a kind of unofficial sequel to The Wizard of Oz, from 1985. It was strange. Dorothy has not been sleeping since the night of the tornado, and seems obsessed with this fantasy land she has visited. To help her with this her aunt and uncle take her to a psychiatric hospital for electric shock treatment. There's a power cut when some of the other patients, damaged by the procedure, start to revolt, and she escapes, winding up back in Oz.
The film carries on in much the same vein.
