Woke up to the sound of something rattling against the window this morning, peeled the curtains back to reveal a cat. Long story short, me and the cat are hanging out in my front room watching some Frozen Planet. I think we might be best mates, how long can we hang out before I'm accused of stealing someones cat? It could be a cat burglar... Bloody clever little beasts... (I've been trying to post this for 3h; goddam blue bear very mean) |

I've been in a pub beer garden this afternoon, drinking sweet delicious pale ales in the sun. I'm sure I'll feel tip top tomorrow. Pizza hut delivery incoming..
OTTM, does anyone actually 'own' a cat? I mean really? The cat owns you. Or whomever it decides it wants to feed it or stroke it. Well, ours were like that, before they bought the farm.

I adore cats and they seem to adore me. I was once dragged to me ex's bosses' works party at their enormous mansion in Beaconsfield... I hate works dos of any kind because they are both boring and provide huge capacity for fuck ups that you have to live with in multiple ways after they are over. Anyway, said bosses were nice people and OK to chat with, but my ex's colleagues were mostly young turks who were intent on boosting their egos and ABV, whilst trying to exercise their infantile senses of humour. I quickly got fed up with them and the bosses had to circulate so I went in search of the 'shy' cat - a huge British Black with a dribble. I was told said cat would absent itself if found and hated men. I found the enormous creature hiding behind an armchair; I quietly said hello and sat in a different chair. Eventually, it poked its head around the back of the chair and, after I'd patted my lap, shyly wandered over, plonked its great bulk down and within seconds Sable was making puddings and dribbling onto my knee. I didn't mind the mess: this was much more enjoyable than the alternatives. The owners were astonished - especially the husband, as the beastie wouldn't allow him near it. Sadly, I have never had a cat - after I left home I was either working away from home or moving and didn't settle in one place until my second marriage - my ex- came with a budgerigar, so cats were out of the question. Now, because of infirmities, I would not be able to look after it properly. Otherwise I would be honoured to be hired as chief forager and scratcher...  You should be so lucky, Chumbles |
