He's not answering his phone today though the cunt. Doesn't he realise I need to celebrate the Royal Jubilee. Tbf he's probably busy with his real job running a chicken franchise/launderette. |

Morning all.
My brains are indeed totally fried from playing/watching vidja gamez all day yesterday. I played more Xenoblade. I got ice cabbages. Several, in fact. So I did my bit for Colony 6 and was able to register the entry in the Collectopaedia. This is when I realised that I've only got 95% because I'm still missing one collectable at Valak Mountains. Sigh.
So I spent hours filling in the map which isn't an easy task in that area because there are so many paths, slopes and tunnels in a snow-covered landscape that it's really easy to overlook something. I also needed several savescumming trials before I was able to do some of the tricky platforming. The few high level enemies are either docile or stupid or both so I was taken by surprise when I returned to an area where I had fought a unique monster and was attacked by its replacement. Only when I got a death vision did it occur to me to check the enemy's level. Level 97. Oops. Unsurprisingly I got incinerated as I was trying to run. Maybe I should switch to Elden Ring for the full experience.
Then in the evening I joined Andrew's Sunday game stream. Like me he's actively trying to clear his backlog of games he had started but never finished and this is how we ended up with Lego Jurassic World which he had last played in 2016. Now, everyone knows that Lego games are not the most polished games in existence and besides, this was a movie tie-in. Yet we were not quite prepared for the sheer amount of shonk. So many questionable design decision, so much stuff that was broken. Pity the children who were gifted this game by well-meaning relatives. At least they would have learnt why dinosaurs became extinct: because they were constantly getting stuck on the f*cking scenery or falling through the floor. Educational as long as you would like to build up your vocabulary of swear words.

Hello.
I am pretty hooked on the Elden Ring now. It's very good. I've managed to despatch the first main story boss while still under-levelled, mainly by summoning another player who seemed to know what he was doing. Watching him wield his massive chopper was truly inspiring. Now I am in a castle bit which is much more like trad Souls in that you are surrounded by enemies and can't run away. 4 stars.
