Ladies and gentlemen I have been somnolent. I slept for about 12 hours both Friday and Saturday nights. No ganes. After that I finally have my vim back. That Dackle sparkle. I watched the xbox thing, Starfield looks like its had that filthy Jim Smithingtons* hands on it - No mans sky out the wazoo. Classic Jim. Everyone is bananas for Hollow Knight, but having played a fair bit of the first one it seems entirely moribund. It looks nice but its basically just the same rooms of rectangular blocks you have to jump on over and over again, before you stumble across a boss fight. Somnolence inducing.
*you know, the No mans sky guy

Out re-catching covid in the community at a learning roadshow thing. Lunch is a fucking buffet thing. Sandwiches? Oh no, let's have salads/pasta and other things that require multiple people using the same sets of tongs/spoons.

I realised I'd been carrying around two items that upgraded my sword attack, since when no hideous semi-human monstrosity has been safe, and am now close to reaching the boss fight in the first main castle. END still only at 20, so no doubt will get my arse handed to me.

Anent the unseemly early choring, I am recovering from the dead freezer / new freezer activity - immensely helpful of various neighbours except my green rubbish bin is full of the packaging (the polystyrene foam) and defrosted food; which is problematical as it won't get emptied for another 9 days... But I would not have been able to get it researched, bought collected and installed without their help. It does mean that there is a ton of stuff to do before treatment tomorrow. It's much easier and friendlier than the original Demon's Souls. For a start off a load of people imported a Japanese version (not me) so were reliant on the pictures to identify items. I had a 100 page book with it, but the guidance served to confuse matters, not explain them. I read the book thoroughly several times, so I was properly confused. In my first play I had opponents seemingly randomly appearing and disappearing. They weren't there. Then they were. I would fight and lose to them. When I got back they weren't there again. It still remains one of my greatest gaming experiences. |

I'm 'hot desking' today and have vacated my office and taken my laptop in the room where, luckily, cricket is on TV. Agile working at its finest, I'm sure you'll agree. Just watched a remarkable delivery from Broad, no wicket, but it pitched on a length two foot outside off and the keeper had to dive full length leg side to snaffle it. The NZ batters are currently undertaking some serious gardening.

During the No Man's Skyrim presentation I pointed out that I've already been on a holiday to Crete so I don't need no stinking Starfield.
(I know they spell it Kreet but they didn't think the name through, did they?)
After that I joined the usual Sunday night gaming stream. First episode of Trails in the Sky the 3rd! We've been waiting for so long... As usual Andrew walked into a lengthy cut scene just as he was getting ready to bring the stream to a close. So my bedtime was delayed by yet another hour. Still, worth staying up for.
Now I'm basically sitting around and waiting for the plumber to show up with the spare part to repair the boiler. If I had known that he wouldn't show up in the morning I would have opted for slightly more sleep instead of more coffee. And of course I still have no hot water.
Pray for Tent Hen.

I had that edition of Demons with the book, but I had it a few years after it came out so was able to use the wikis etc. Still baffling.
My most popular message so far has been 'mushroom ahead' just in front of a mushroom. Upwards of 3 other players have indicated their approval.

I'm blue. My laptop keys are underperforming: 'T', 'Y', 'backspace', 'shift'. I've blasted them with air, I've twanged them off to clean underneath. The laptop's only two years old.
Periodically they begin working ok again ...
