If Starfield is actually any good (see The outer Worlds) I might be tempted to buy an XboxX.
The Outer Worlds was really poor. It has put me off Skyrim style Sci-Fi games.
I'm also concerned that Bethesda don't know how to update the model they have followed since Morrowwind.
Oblivion was Morrowwind +, Skyrim was Oblivion +
Fallout 3 & NV were Oblivion +
Fallout 4 while shinier was Fallout NV-
The whole style is very dated now for RPGs. The Witcher and Souls and Mass Effect are way more modern in style. And they are coming up for 15 years old soon.
The last properly new ideas game Bethesda did was Fallout 3 in 2008 (and even that was just oblivion after a nuclear war). Everything since then has been very close repeats.
There has to be significant doubt that they can successfully handle a more complex questing system. Fallout 4 (well 3.2 really) showed the system they had couldn't get better. Or at least they didn't know how to make it better.

You've still got to buy the rest of the PC to go with it.

Probably the best thing about Elden Ring is the way the scary music which plays when you fire up the game reaches a dramatic crescendo just as the Terms and Conditions appear on screen for the player's approval.

What's No Man's Skyrim? I'm blue. My laptop keys are underperforming: 'T', 'Y', 'backspace', 'shift'. I've blasted them with air, I've twanged them off to clean underneath. The laptop's only two years old. Periodically they begin working ok again ... This made me chockle. Not sure why, sounds a bit durty to me. |

Did you really find Outer worlds that bad? It wasn't super innovative, and there were no real new ideas there, but I thought it borrowed from the best of the genre and was a diverting week or two of evenings' play. It was witty, the voice acting was great... I quite liked the lootiness & shootiness of it (and games like that aren't my bag in general, I've never successfully completed a borderlands campaign for example)... Got a bit samey by the end maybe. I think perhaps my perception is coloured by the fact that it was free on gamepass - the game felt like an absolute bargain when I was getting it for no pounds and no shillings. I definitely feel that I'd have felt short changed if id paid £49.99.99 for it on release week though I suppose. Wasn't unreasonable i suppose to expect bigger things from an new IP Obsidian release, it was certainly no New Vegas in terms of content and re-playability for sure |

It doesn't take up much space and allows me to have dual screens* and it was available. *Creamy, I bought a 144Hz, 28" 4K monitor for £500 so combined with the specs below I'm good to go for a number of years.  |
