Managed to renew the internet with the same unlimited deal a new router and a cheaper price and also picked up a 5G sim with a 20GB monthly allowance that also cheaper than the previous rate.
Getting 59Mbs download on 5G.

I'm trying to shoot someone's bollocks off from over 100m away. In a game. In real life I'm getting repeatedly kicked in the bollocks.
We've got some time off in September, so I need to start looking for a book that outlines some historical event about man's inhumanity to man.

PS4 pubg didn't run the last time I tried on PS5 I just remembered. They'll have fixed that by now Shirley.
I've still got one of the work VR sets at home and I need to take it back soon as I've eventually written my user guide.
Going to try some gaming again before I do and see if I can manage to not nearly throw up this time.
Maybe some backgammon or something less taxing. Get a full Omar Sharif avatar on the go.

Eversion - Alastair Reynolds
I finished this early this morning. Not that early though. It was still dark.
I enjoyed it, but I do not think it was close to his best work.
It reminded me of the game Soma. Both in its theme and to an extent the setting. However it is also themes he has dealt with in other books, particularly short stories.
On the plus side it was shortish and not that densely written. These are big plusses in actually finishing books in a reasonable timescale .
However it was not a sleep inducing book. Was it worth a terrible night's sleep? I am going for yes. It did not help that there was a long series of heavy goods trains that went past. I had the window open as it was warm and there were a lot of deep rumblings.
Four Stars recommended - the book not late night trains.

Morning all, Weekendchat. Attended a beer festival in Lewes. Good fun but after it descended into a 'what's wrong/breaking' chat in the pub. The reality is that drinking is coming at an increasing cost these days. Suspect I'll be moving to a 'only for special occasions' scenario in the next few years. Ironically it was very sobering. GamesChat. Won my Civ 5 domination game. Somewhat underwhelmed as it became a real grind with tanks facing, at best, musketmen. Picked back up with Skyrim. Lydia is the best. What is a whats wrong/breaking chat? |
