Briefly breaking in on my day of angst to recount one tiny part... I somehow couldn't login to Neptune's Pride website, having signed out to sync my backup and main rigs - I never sign out normally...
Weirdly the Chrome-stored password wouldn't work, so I requested a NP2 reset password and THAT bounced. I wondered if Chrome include an invisible special character (I think), as I was using ctrl-c then ctrl-v to put this in too and NP2 would NOT accept its own emailed password!
F**k me was I sweating / and swearing! Then it occurred to me that that might be the case, so I used the right click menu and selected "Paste as plain text" and it took.
After 9h of this, housework chasing medicines / appointments, I am shattered, but I have to get this done ...
The current logjam is a combination of a build up of a ton of stuff to do because of increased illness (and last week's heat). And then I need to use my backup PC for 2-4 weeks which requires a mountain of preparation by next Monday.
I get a discount on the work required (clean w1 install) because the guy can use it as fill-in work because I can run for up to 4 weeks on the second machine ... It's a pain, but having a point at which all your data is backed up, your PC and file server cleaned of all the minute particles* that build up on electronic gear, greatly extends its life.
*And an old guy with dry skin conditions creates a ton of it; both bits of kit sit on a carpeted floor as well... I think it's called personalisation.

Does anyone have any good football puns? Ideally based on Liverpool players? I need one for my work fantasy football team. In the past I had a name based on the team ‘Accra Hearts of Oak S.C.’ Then towards the end of the season I found out that ‘Hearts of Oak’ was also the name of a pro-Tommy Robinson far right website. So far I have: Lijnders Crispy Pancakes Núñez The Memorious Jota Carve Up I’m well aware these are piss poor. Chewbacca the net? Obi Wan-Bissaka? |

So, the PS VR headset and controllers that my mate was desperate to sell me for a song a few weeks ago have landed in my lap anyway today, despite my not buying them. He's asked me to 'hold on to them' for his brother, who's bought them off him, but is deployed with the Navy in the Falklands til November. Spent the afternoon excitedly reassembling my PS4, plan to spend the evening ignoring the kids and stumbling blindly around the lounge - wish me luck

Tracking down licenses and how to reinstall under windows 11 is a right pain. Anyone have a program that lists all installed software, extracting the license details, references and other necessary information? I've had breaks for food, medicines and hydration / evacuation but it's nearly 14h since I started and I am fucked. |

I’ve been on Grid leg ends, which has a bizarre attempt at a story which feels holey inconsequential. Also tried that fantasy 7 game, I think it must be the last one as it’s called final fantasy 7. Something about ecoterrorism. Very topical.

Hello
Spent much of the day watching cricket - Yorkshire v Hampshire in Scarbados on t'interwebs and now Eng v SA T20 on the Beeb.
I also spent a couple of hours attempting to assemble my 3D printer. Encountered a few problems *, including "Must you do that on the dining room table?" from 'er indoors before putting it aside for another day.
* It doesn't help that I need a magnifying glass to read the assembly instructions
