Morning. Terrible sleep. Can't wait to get back from the in laws to my own bed. Probably the lack of booze as well. No games, No TV. I used to have to stay away on projects 5 nights out of 7; it's OK when you're younger, but even then I needed 3 or 4 pints to get any sleep. Especially as I preferred pubs, rather than hotels full of tedious travelling salesmen. Trying to eat your food or have a quiet drink whilst reading a book or doing the crossword with some bastard braying about his sales shite, or holding sales calls was the opposite of relaxing. If you'd started work at 6 or 7 a.m. and kept going until 7 in the evening you need to wind down and sleep - after half a skinful so you could sleep through the late night revelry and put up with the strange bed. The George and Dragon in Altrincham was the best as I made a lot of friends there; darts team, quiz team etc. I even stayed there off my own bat for a holiday once. But when I got into my forties I really hated not sleeping in my own bed. And in times I was hooked up I found sleeping without the other half very very difficult. |

The pm’s brother stopped over last night. It was ok, but we had a loose arrangement to go into work together, as we were both going in the same direction.
We didn’t do this in the end.
Ok, so uh … Most mornings for the past couple of years I’ve been engaging in a sort of creative writing / typing … exercise. And, well … this means getting up early, having some breakfast, doing some typing, having a shower and doing some more typing. Then going to, or starting, work. The second spell of typing usually takes place with me lying on the bed with a towel around my waist and a t-shirt around my head (to lock in the moisture), while a very ambient radio station plays in the background.
The pm’s brother looked in to say goodbye this morning- as he’d decided to leave early - and saw me like this. He apparently then asked the pm if I was looking at porn.

Morning all!
Anyone going to a shop today?
I’m due a Co-op visit at lunchtime, but that’s it. My partner hasn’t gone into the office as planned, which has mucked up the farm shop visit.
Boy’s birthday tomorrow, and we’re taking him to Legoland. He doesn’t know this yet…
Spent yesterday evening putting together his new bike, so at least the tyres are properly inflated and the brakes are working. Will need to adjust the handlebars and saddle to fit once he’s tried it.
TVblog: nothing! My partner was watching some South Korean legal drama centred an autistic lawyer. Very niche.
