Flies
In the heat there are 5-6 flies which have got in to the flat and won't leave.
I have bought flypaper, but the stupid bastards are reluctant to admit how attractive they find it and are studiously ignoring it. I also bought a thing which is supposed to be unattractive to flies to keep them out f the kitchen.
Again they are struggling with this concept.
I don't want to have to use fly spray.

3M photo mounting spray. Wait till they land on something wipe cleanable like a window and dose them with a spray. Can't fly away. Kill them at your leisure. What do you mean that's serial killer behaviour?

I'm not going to bore you with stories of my ancestral homeland (East Frisia, home of the Ostfriesenwitz). My Pref. Mam. (a delightful mix of Scottish, Irish, and Dutch, but, as he was always at pains to point out, "not a single drop of English blood") used to make the valid observation that parish records were kept in churches, where you also get two things that don't mix very well: alcohol and naked flames. When the inevitable happened and the records were lost, local people often got a completely new set of ancestors overnight and suddenly everyone was somehow related to the local laird. |

Someone in the family traced my grandad (on my dad's side) family back to being horse trainers in Scotland. They had come from Ireland and that's where the trail went cold. I'm not sure what a horse trainer did back then, I'm guessing it wasn't grooming the finest thoroughbreds for racing at Ascot. It's just occurred to me. Maybe this is why I'm hung like a Shetland Pony. |

Sadly my macerator and pump unit has blown up; so the loo is in bits whilst the very grumpy engineer has gone off to do some stuff and get a replacement unit. That will be at least a grand. I won't describe the interim arrangements, but I at least was able to take advantage of my nurse's presence to do a long overdue #2; and that treatment was fun.... In order to keep the interim arrangements sanitary requires a stunning amount of time. I won't be in here much. |

Open the windows wide. Go outside and take a shit on the windowsill. When the flies leave to investigate, close the windows. Sorted. |
