I shall disregard his opinion on that case. Because a view is expressed by someone in a foreign country (say, Scotland), it doesn't mean that it's wrong. It's pretty obvious that he's British, but even if he was Chinese, it would not matter a damn. Truth, wisdom, stupidity, corruption etc. don't have a nationality... the latter two are amply demonstrated by the government we have and the fact that the Tories were by a country mile the peoples' choice at the last election. And I guess I can be a pompous git in any language *blush* Here's why Felice doesn't dance any more 🤣 |

I have pretty much sailed home.
There have been two separate thunderstorms this afternoon.
There is an enormous amount of water running down the local roads.
I expect the roundabout at the bottom of the hill is more a boating lake.

Ive just set up a PS5 in work.
It's pretty much silent.
Mine at home makes a racket. Fans all the time when you start a game or media app.
FFS. I wonder if it's not got enough space and is over heating.
Balls. Will need to move it and see how it goes. What a palaver.

My PS5 is completely silent - one of the most noticeable differences from the PS4. I've got it standing up next to the telly stand, though definitely not 10cm of space around it.

I don't think it makes a noise when it is on.
The ps4 makes some noise.
The ps2 was whirring madly last time i switched it on. Like a demented vacuum.

My PS5 is virtually silent. In fact, it's more virtual than silent.
I wish I had a PS5. But not a noisy one.

I've been going like a pink battery powered bunny.* A combination of doomscrolling and moving house later this month is to blame. Twitter has been interesting recently. A deranged American accused me of being in cahoots with (in no particular order): Neo Nazis, bio weapon labs, Schwab (had to look that one up), Soros, Joe & Hunter Biden, child trafficking, money-laundering, rigged elections, the new world order**, forced injections, the climate change hoax, Chinese social credit, digital currency, and, last but not least, communism. I guess it's always good to know where one stands although I wish I had more money to launder. On the moving front, putting things into boxes hasn't been helped by a recent routine GP appointment where I was supposed to have a blood sample taken. I can't remember having met that nurse before so she might be new which would explain a lot, but to make a long story short for those who are a bit squeamish, her amateurish attempt to draw blood clearly hit a nerve. Like, literally. As a result I've been getting the feeling of a mild electric shock in my left hand every time I use it and particularly when I lift anything heavy. After almost a week it's improved a lot but I could have done without it. Lunch: flatbread, garlic & herb Philly, mini cucumbers (my latest vegetable obsession) No games. *Duracell, obviously, not like that US copy rabbitcat ** I'll admit it, Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 is my favourite, but how did they know? |

Hello I have just been invited to get my covid booster and flu jabs from Friday. I feel old. So have I - it took 3h on the phone to get through to the surgery to tell them that I can't get into the surgery. "Oh! You were on the wrong list." "So, about those jabs... we'll be in touch." ffs. tenthenemy - that's a sympathy like... I feel for you. In 270 blood tests over 9 months in hospital, involving something like 4 stabs each time, they hit the valves (yes, blood vessels have valves) about 1 in 10 times and it's bloody painful, but in those and the dozens since, they've never hit a nerve. Note the details and when you can make the time write a letter of complaint to the surgery cc the PCT. If the effects last, you have a record; and at the least they'll have a note on the individual's record so they have to take action to rectify the matter - be it retraining or if someone else gets the same malpractice they can boot them. I 'liked' this post because I had completely forgotten about the existence of Oxtail soup for, ooh, 30 years? It was a staple at my folks house when I was a kid, but I've don't remember having even seen, let alone tasted it since I left home for university. I must be Oxtail blind when I'm browsing soup in Tesco. And now I want some, want it so bad I can almost taste the rich, lumpy brown ambrosia. Unfortunately its pissing it down so it'll have to wait. If I'm not on here reporting that I had it for lunch tomorrow then I expect to be roundly scolded |

My pals girlfriend went vegan, so to paraphrase Pulp Fiction that pretty much makes him vegan...
Used to make braised oxtails. Absolutely beautiful stuff. Cooked for about 8hrs. Glutinous, red wine enriched gravy with mash. Fucking amazing.
Hello. Heading home. Went to my pals after work to help with some IT problems. He's out of chews though and hopes to drop some off before the weekend. Which would be marvellous as it's been about a month.
