It's the legacy of the catman. I'll say that before Scubar does.

Our gardens are back to back with the houses behind us. Apparently some old fucking bat has been leaving food out for the foxes - but of course it's just meant rats instead. Having to now look through the bushes at the bottom of the garden for dead ones. Marvellous. Foxes aren't 'cute', they are vermin; and rats are fucking nasty - wear motor cycling gloves, heavy fabric trousers and take a sand wedge or a 9 iron, depending on your height and practise your short game; try to knock the heads onto the old bats' roosting area. I did a Summer holiday job in Bearmans, a department store in Leyton; the job was effectively labouring - moving stuff, furniture deliveries (gods, two of us taking a heavy wardrobe up three flights of stairs while the driver "Done me back, in' I" watched on giving idiotic advice) and collecting the unwanted or broken stuff which got chucked on a huge pile back at the yard. Every so often we had to take shovels and brooms and chuck all the shite into a battered old emergency reserve lorry. And the rats that came out of the sewers and hung around there were bigger than goddam cats... A 6' 1" 14st of muscle backing off a 2' long shitty monster used to inspire great guffaws, but they had shovels and I had an unwieldy broom.

A single breeding pair of rats can in theory produce tens of millions of descendants within 3 years. Of course, conditions would have to be optimal (eg easy access to fox food, space provided by adjacent gardens etc), so you're probably fine.

Dog has been back to vets as was leaking a little blood from the scrotals.
Luckily he’s not torn any stitches, but has a suspected haematoma so is gonna be in his crate for the next few days.

Ffs bin night cancelled because of the big funeral tomorrow. Maximum respect being shown by the bin lads there. Almost as respectful as Brentford getting battered because they're too upset to play well

Of course if your bin night was Tuesday, like a normal person, then you wouldn't be in this predicament

I'm thinking of putting my bins out anyway, as a political statement. Let's see who the real sheeple are on this street.

Morning, Rat Fans!
Just one more day of mourning and respect, then it's back to the hate and spite of normal life.
Kids are playing Lumo. I'm on call to help when they get stuck. Hero Dad of the year award is surely mine now.
Left over lamb curry for later so no cooking needed today.
OTTM, might go for a walk in the woods.

Bins still being collected tomorrow, but collection will start at 5.30am and continue till the funeral starts. It'll be an early rise for me in the morning to get the bins out in good time.

Will there be bins overflowing on the route taken by the funeral procession?

When I was a soft southerner I would have been fine about putting the heating on when it first started to feel chilly. But now that I'm living in the land of hardy northerner's it's not so straight forward is it.

We had a special bin collection yesterday as tomorrow is a bank holiday. I expect it was the same for many of you, if you actually paid attention.
