Fuck's sake scubar , go back to the sleep... What I do? Preferred mammal made it to Madrid safely. I have tiled half of the en-suite. I have resisted all efforts to carry on this morning. I’m sure I’ll get round to it eventually, but meh.

I have not played tennis this morning. I have been drinking decaff coffee in a state of abject misery and self-loathing. dit dit dit "This just in Mr. Tids admits to being a wannabe caffeine drinker and crying into his cup shouting woe is me woe is me"! "More news later (maybe)"

Just cleaned some unknown stink off the bottom of my son’s shoe, and right after lunch. It’s what Sundays are for.

I’m sure I’ll get round to it eventually, but meh. I noticed that you were online when I was posting that picture and wondered what the hell you were doing up at that stupid o'clock. Incidentally, the really silly thing about GM protests, is that gardeners and farmers have been cross-breeding animals and plants since prehistory. Green Granddad used to grow Loganberries (a cross between raspberries and blackberries) and they were gorgeous. What folks should really object to is Monsanto et al deliberately creating sterile hybrids so that instead of poor third world farmers being able to reserve and plant on some of the harvest, they get locked into buying Monsanto's hybrids annually. It's like the con which you M$ (and others) perpetuate by trying to sell you an Office 365 etc licence. I could rant about this for ages (and having stood on my awful feet for a couple of hours I'm almost in the mood), but I am trying to keep cheerful. (My nice neighbours have decided that they are redecorating the ground floor which apparently means ripping up the carpets and, in some cases the floor, early in the morning , as well as drilling holes etc. etc.). It's only 7 years since they last did this.)

Audio books. I'm trying to get through Altered Carbon (Richard K Morgan), but although I enjoyed reading it, I now realize that I could skip the infantile porno bits. The ?hero - well FPV - is an ex-soldier turned private dick (atm emphasis on dick) whose mind (amongst other things) has just been blown. It does serve some plot purpose, but it's so over the top it has effectively and unintentionally dropped into comedic farce. But I like gumshoe stories and I can't remember where this one ends up, so I guess I will be screaming "Alexa, forward five minutes, NOW" for some time.
Lunch: Fish pie and a couple of yoghurts
Games: Got to check that the new install will run AOW3 ok...

Oh how I agree - Heinlein's earlier stuff was so much better that his descent into pursuing a combination of self-gratification and priapic determinism and, the ultimate irony, "work or die" political philosophy that surfaces and floods his books with virtually unreadable, ill-thought out and downright insane ideas obscures his talent, was criminal. (His social philosophy was on a par with L Ron Hubbard's.) As soon as he started to prate on about discipline so his writing lost it. I had to read Stranger in a Strange Mind from beginning to end for my dissertation; hence my hatred of this descent into stupidity. I'd go on, but suffice it to say Felice, good call.

Morning chatty strawberries!
Still not watched and/or and/or Lloyd, this weekend has been a right off.
Did get some more of the new cod in, serviceable.
Delved into a skate simulator called 'Session'. Its tremendous. The Dark Souls of skate boarding games. Still yet to make it past the Capra Demon. Its made harder by the fact that everything it asks of you is written in 'skater' language with little to no explanation. "Get into and pop out of 3 manuals on this pad". That was one of the easier ones.
See you later boy!

Peter Hamilton’s “Night’s Dawn” trilogy had this too.

Nosegrind along THIS.
Evening all
Cottage pie went down a treat. Made enough for two more portions for tomorrow. Unlucky younglings, it's beans on toast for you, mwahaha.
Getting darker earlier and earlier. And colder. Soon be pitch black and freezing by 5pm. Oh well.
OTTM, no.
