Audiobook recommendations from the hive mind? Hopefully ones for just before sleeping, did use Attenborough docs to drift off but have listened a few times to them. Anything else crashed today, wasn’t the plot of a bond film to blow up a pipeline? Anyone have space laser on 2020’s bingo? Listening via Scribd to the second of the Slow Horses series by Mick Herron. Old school espionage.

This chat feels intellectually inadequate. Intellectually flaccid is the preferred nomenclature.

Things seem to be going well today, in a financial sense. A nice, normal country with a lot of stability and sensible decision making. Its a wonder why no one has thought of trying this before.

Audiobook…. Got a new one for tomorrow commute.
John Cooper Clarke. I wanna be yours.
Might be humorous … might be full of Salford angst.

I had a long post sketched out, expressing specific worries I have about a medical appointment tomorrow, and more general worries about the world. There were some personal insights there too, about fatherhood, and sport, and life (yes I have opened the wine early)
Then, my wife drew the curtains and I was forced to go from desktop to mobile mode, then my phone screen saver came on, and somewhere in the mix appx 250 words have just disappeared. Is that a thing? Or have I been censored by my phone for too much navel gazing?
Todays been a charlie uniform november tango of a day from start to finish (and it's not finished yet)

muffrat hope the medical stuff isn't keeping you awake at night and goes ok. Hello. Busy at work. Followed by a visit to Stringer Bells for a re-up. Heading home later than I hoped. My pal was showing me the upgrades to his E-bike. A wireless gear changer has been fitted along with other stuff. What a time to be alive. He has two bikes and the Chinese one needs the gear ratio tweaked as it's too fast and is attracting attention from the Polis. No games or TV. I need to go back TLOU but I'm shiting it coz of the bloater and clickers in the basement. I need to man up. I saw a trailer for the TV show. Fuck that.

One prejudice I am guilty of is being blondist... I once saw my BF lovely wife (in every sense) spend 15m trying to parallel park before driving to the Tesco car park 20m walk away...

It's a pretty close thing for Florida as to which is worse Ron Desantis or Ian the Hurricane. This video shows the intensity of the lightning - "@theastronick I have flown storms for the last six years. This flight to Hurricane Ian on Kermit (NOAA42) was the worst I’ve ever been on. I’ve never seen so much lightning in an eye. This was the eye. You can see the curvature. Understand this is at NIGHT. The light is from LIGHTNING." The answer is Desantis; he's lasted 4 years and has been a Trump supporter passing reactionary and repressive legislation...

Thanks gents. I'll report back tomorrow, suffice to say there's no such thing as a good lump. Grateful to say NHS has been terrifyingly efficient last 48hrs
I'm suitably anaesthatised by a couple of cans of out of date Magners cider, and the last of the Ouzo that my mate brought back from Macedonia last year (I've really cleaned the booze cupboard out, as you might be able to tell from the menu I've outlined)

I went to see a monk about a beer.
I thought i had bought 48 beers at 4.20€ a beer.
I had bought 96 beers at 2.10€ a beer. Same price. Dubbel the beer.

Westvleteren. It's like a secret club. I had to sign up and pay for the beer last week. Today i drove to a secret location and a nice monk gave me 96 beers.
The good sort of club. So far i have only tried the blonde beer. It's very decent. Not exceptional.

Best of luck, and talk / be cheeky to the staff - it'll make you feel better and make you a person in their eyes.

Hello from Motherhen's secret volcanic island lair. Once more I'm too tired to chat. But I can show you a picture I snapped through the window of the top secret train to the island. (And here's one to prove that this is indeed a rail track. No monorail, though. Motherhen doesn't like the look of those.)

As Chumbles reminds me. In the heatwave(s), I slept on top of the bed, but every morning I found a blanket on top of my nether regions. I thought this was to protect my modesty from escaping in the night*. Apparently not, it was to keep my nocturnal farts localised. * it happens to the best of us.

There was also a Quordle but it's disappeared because it's ahead of its time.

I'm watching season 3 of this series 'Police Code Zero' on YouTube, scary but fascinating stuff, Kudos to all law enforcement out there.
ps: I'm not all together well, some stomach/cold/migraine/man flu thing.
Good luck to Muffrat,
pps: I didn't have the b***s to watch the first two seasons.
