Morning bellends (and Tenthen). Been for a brisk walk earlier. Along the way I took in the butchers (stewing beef and bacon) then brought home a chippy lunch for the troops. I'm basically SuperDad™ right now. Last night I watched the first film in that M. Night Shyamalan series, Unbreakable (2000). Tuffers review: quite good. Bench pressing like a young Tuffers. 4*. Then started watching the second film 'Split' but fell asleep. No games. OTTM, classic Daily Mirror. Cunch of bunts. Bro, do you even lift? Your face could do with a lift. |

Back in the UK as of last night.
I went to Sheffield United to see Blues today.
It's fair to say Sheffield really puts Ghent in its place. A city the BBC was happy to niuke v a place with two UNESCO world heritage sites in the centre.
The game was ok. A 1-1 draw. Not bad away at the top side who are particularly strong at home.
They were mostly not that good. McBurnie was lucky to be on the pitch to score.
I thought Deeney was offside for our goal. It turns out not. He was just unmarked in the six yard box.
I did not enjoy being kettled until 17.50. SYP can fuck off and Keep fucking off.
It was raining some of the time. Mostly they were just reversing a couple of coaches and being complete cocks.
Even when they let us go they were grabbing and manhandling some fans.
I am glad their city got nuked. And I would nuke it again. In fact if Vlad would send a cheeky missile there i'd let him have as much of Ukraine as he wants.

Sheep2 - I generally get on well with the fuzz all over the country. With one exception: South Yorkshire: specifically Sheffield and Rotherham; in one of my jobs I used to have to travel on business to both and my usual request for assistance when searching for a place would be met with a cold stare, directions to a newsagent so I could "Buy yourself a map, I'm not the tourist board." etc. and always with the intimation that they were busy doing something. But that if I didn't watch my step that something would be me.

They parked vans all across the road. Then a few yards down it was blocked by two line in full riot gear. Hard hats on, visors down, with a line of horses behind them. And fifty or so riot police further down the road. If they wear caps and chat it's so much less confrontational.
It was really odd. We'd scored late and finished the game well. There wasn't any hint of trouble.
There wasn't any trouble outside either. Our fans were just bored.
I could understand 10 minutes to let the SU fans disperse. It's not great, but it happens sometimes. 50 minutes though was crazy. The area was empty. They spent ages reversing two coaches down the road. It was odd. It would have been easier and safer to do that without fans around. They had to move a police van out the way and shift the horses to move the coaches.
Even when they let us go there were police still trying to hold people back. It was odd. They were grabbing people while others walked past either side. They weren't nicking people for bad behaviour, just police being dickheads.

I went to Rotherham the weekend after the Manchester Arena bombs.
They had police wandering round carrying sub-machine guns and automatic rifles.
I have no idea who at SYP thought police armed with automatic weapons was a good idea in a crowd of 12,000.
If there had been an incident I expect far more would have been hurt by police than by a terrorist.

Tootsie has been suspiciously quiet lately. Keen readers will recall how it claimed to have been recently diagnosed as deaf (but not deaf) and a week later she told me that she was now partially sighted. Coincidently (or not) she went out about a week ago using a walking stick (huh?). Mrs T rightly commented that she must have some kind of interview with the authorities, so the show must go on.
My current thinking is that it has applied for PIP under falsified medical conditions.
p.s. Do I win an award for the most boring post this weekend?
