I am conflicted. I sure as hell don't like Braverman's inflammatory language and think that the government's policies on immigration are misguided; or worse - in particular effectively barring all except those from a small number of countries: from Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Ukraine. But if they are outside of a conflict zone. The Refugee Council has said that "for the vast majority of refugees, there is no safe way for them to seek asylum in the UK". I'm conflicted because in two respects I agree with chucking out 'asylum seekers' who are, in effect economic migrants - firstly, I don't believe that, when a likely 20% of us are facing deprivation of food, heating etc. that we should allow in folk who want to come here because its shittier where they come from. But I'm really concerned for the Albanian influx - mainly of trafficked women (worth reading the Independent's article yesterday). But there's almost certainly a dark and nasty shadow number of criminals attempting to get in: and that's the Albanian 'mafia' who trafficked those women. I've had a glimpse of this through a friend who has to accompany her beautiful teenage daughter to college to protect her; her local post office is in the control of an Albanian group and we can't send CDs or DVDs to each other - they simply disappear. Dan OβMahoney, the Clandestine Channel Threat Commander, told MPs the number of Albanians arriving on small boats has βaccelerated rapidlyβ in a year from 800 to 12,000... He said of those, 10,000 are single men and βlarge numbers...are deliberately gaming the systemβ by claiming asylum before vanishing from the hotels they are put up in.
Mr OβMahoney added the soaring figures were due to the fact Albanian gangs have broken the Kurdish stranglehold on people-smuggling routes. Speaking to the home affairs committee, he said: βDepending on how you look at it, one to two per cent of the entire adult male of Albania has travelled to the UK by small boat.
βThe rise has been exponential. We think that is, in the main, due to the fact Albanian criminal gangs have gained a foothold in the north of France and they have begun facilitating very large numbers of migrants.
βWithin that cohort there are undoubtedly people who need our help. But there are also large numbers who are deliberately gaming the system. There is a huge amount of very harmful, serious and organised criminality in the UK committed by Albanian criminal gangs."
And that is why I concerned - these men are cunts.

Could this be why tenthenemy is such an infrequent visitor to the blog? It would seem that comparatively it probably is... their government has made a much bigger Koch of introducing fibre and 4g technologies. Given that Tenthen is in a small village atm where lines are almost certainly twinned pair copper cable, landlines are limited to 50mbps AND Tenthen's Mum almost certainly isn't set up for internet access (I seem to recall that she had to set up phone calls with the aid of her brother). Mobile access looks to be horrifically expensive. The variations in-country and the blogpost linked above shows that this is really significant in areas away from major population centres... In May this year a 30β¬ mobile plan would on average get you 50Gb data, whereas here in the UK it's over 1000Gb... according to this report. And I would hazard a guess that Tent is prioritizing calls to her children and grandkids. I know, I'm a ; and that has been a brilliant diversion from chorz...

Could this be why tenthenemy is such an infrequent visitor to the blog? Whatever the reason, it's certainly nothing to do with the quality of the content. On that I think we can all agree.

Hi.
Absolutely chucking it down.
Popped out for a chicken Schwarma for lunch from a new place that some Syrian New Scots have opened.
They dropped off some menus in work with a box of falafels that were amazing. So trying something else.
Games. Err, no don't thinks so. TV. The SAS WW2 thing on the commute.

Lunchblog: Co-op ciabatta warmed up in the oven, then chucked under the grill to melt mature white cheddar, with a few dollops of Branston to finish. Sandwich++

Time for a belated -ish pie. It's actually called a 'fish' pie but it's pretty much a hunt the fish game, with tartare sauce making the mash sea 'edible'. But it beats trying to catch one! I'm not on a parr with this guy FISH:1 - MR CHUBBY: 0

Morning chubsters!
We avoided any halloween children coming round yesterday, but did have a visit from some Jehovah's witnesses. I told them I couldn't talk as I was busy working from home, and as they were leaving one of them remarked 'it's great that you can work in your pyjamas'. Shortly after, I realised I wasn't wearing my pyjamas but had changed into my work Zooming outfit. Cheeky $%^$%^.
Games - stayed up late playing COD. I'm playing the multiplayer and have got to the part where you run around mindlessly looking for people to shoot in the face. It's TB.

Gamez chat!
I've decided to register with Sony direct to get the chance of an invitation to preorder the new PSVR2 which is supposed to be out in February. I never got a PSVR1 but did have a go on a friends. Resident Evil VIIIage is one of the release games π¬
Cool story, Tuffers.
