Morning all, Had covid, no idea why it's so popular. Also, how to stop a screen popping up continually asking about cookie choices etc? I was getting worried...

Fishfinger sandwich for lunch. Lettuce, slice of burger cheese, mayo on one side ketchup on the other. Tasted of childhood, think I'll have another tomorrow.
Found a bag of pearl onions in the back of the freezer last night so made a beef bourgignon in the slow cooker which has cooked all day today - just tasted it, and zut alors... Someone else here made one this weekend too, whoever it was hope yours is as nice as this. Nom.
Games: been charging PS4 controller all day in anticipation of RAGNAROK. Virgin broadband went down for a bit in the house, so ended up having a couple of games of Uno and a Pass the Pigs session with the kids, much fun - delighted at how much they seem to enjoy it when I get the games out if the internet goes off (they'd never play if they have Wi-Fi) , might have to kick the cable out of the router from time to time in future

Evening
Been rearranging the house after work. Having new windows fitted over next three days. Been trying to upgrade my tradesman persuasion skill tree. Got the "fancy a brew, pal?" enhancement ready to go.
No tea yet, but there's a portion of leftover beef curry from Saturday in the fridge that needs eating up.
Jims, just about to boot up Odyssey.
My Stella chalice glass is in the dishwasher with half a cycle still to run, so I'm using an old style half pint glass to slake my thirst. My hands look really big.
OTTM, no

The Bourgignon was excellent, the equal of anything I've eveer made. No mushrooms because I'm not a savage, but doubled up on lardons and a splash of brandy at the end. Mwah. Burp.
I made it with a half of a jereboam of Languedoc that I won in the sumer raffle at the kids school. Fruity and tannic, a great wine for cooking beef. I've pre-emptively doubled up on my allopurinol i. Anticipation of gout, for the ngers crossed
Unfortu ately, I've drunk the other half, and it's only 8 o'clock. Tesco delivery not due til half ten, and I'm. Ready for a sleep already. Wish me luck

I wonder what Gavin (FSoTY) Williamson has got on Rishi Sunak from his days as Chief Whip. It must be good.

Mushrooms should go in most savoury dishes. I'd hate to not like them.

I watched Mother Android on Netflix, it was actually pretty good. "I've never felt this strongly about a movie to have the need to write a review about it. This movie evoked so much emotion in me and half way through I was already balling my eyes out."
You wrote that, didn't you?

I seem to have spent most of my evening making and cooking meatballs. Bloody hell.

I'm getting a lot of Proustian flashbacks from the Italia 90 thing on channel 4. Jumpers for goalposts, isn't it? Poor old Gazza is really looking like his paper round was especially tough.

I am reading a book about walls. There is a lack of sausages and ice cream, but apart from that it is very interesting. If I were the sort of person who thanked people for good book recommendations I would be thanking RollingEscargot.
RollingEscargot. I am enjoying the book about walls you recommended. Thank you.

hi
Did you have a good weekend?
I played Fortnite for for hours then went out to attend the ‘Britain is Broken’ march. I missed the march so went straight to Trafalgar Square. There were people on stage saying ‘Tories out’ and a crowd with placards. I met my friends and within two minutes we went to a pub.
It was a good few hours. I consumed some more hashish - the devil drug. I ate a halloumi wrap then watched what I thought would be a hidden cinematic masterpiece. It turned out to be a racy picture about vampire lesbians.
Not a bad day all in all.
