I will hopefully get to fit a few hours of Doom time in and possibly even buy the new Footy Manager.

Morning. Games: none. I did watch Kingsman: The Secret Service again, drank a bottle of wine and ate spicy chicken wings.
4 stars.

Hi.
No games last night. Peaky blinders with a Glass of wine, emptied the dishwasher and then bed.
Hopefully some more uncharted tonight.
Just got a free donut in krispy kreme. It's my usual Glasgow Central coffee spot as they do the cheapest coffee.

Up to January 1984 in the Coronation St binge.
Bert Tilsley died in hospital.
Ivy and Brian are very upset.
This comes mere weeks after Len Fairclough died in a car crash.
So much tragic loss in one small street.

Up to January 1984 in the Coronation St binge. So did you buy the entire box set, or is this via some dodgy Street streaming service?

I reckon Socky has gone full 80's and barricaded himself into his old teenage bedroom and is watching re-runs of corrie on his old VHS collection recorded when he had a thing for Deidre. He occasionally puts on old Ceefax recordings and survives purely on wotsits.
Either that or ITV 3.

Either that or ITV 3. How did I not know this? I assumed it was just repeats of the current episodes. *On second thoughts 'some dodgy Street streaming service' was close enough.

ITV3 is currently showing 1986 episodes.
They're fine but Youtube had them sorted into month long blocks, year by year.
Far more satisfying.

As I said last night I won't have much opportunity for posting today.
I just wanted to communicate my reading of the situation. I believe that action was taken against us because Keef will not be replaced - certainly not now, maybe never - and they did not want to deal with the Chatterbox legacy. I believe that the articles that have appeared in the games section since his departure were pieces that had been planned or commissioned some time ago, and there are no further plans to publish anything with the games tag in the near future.
In order to prevent chatterboxers spilling out and vandalizing other comment sections, people were put into premod so that mods could keep tab on us. The Pokemon article was then left open as a way to trap more posters and put them into premod.
It will therefore serve no purpose to post there any longer, and it will probably prolong the premod for everyone as they want to be sure that we do not decide to congregate somewhere else. They might shut comments on the article at one point or just leave them open forever; but they know that we could easily follow each other to a different article by looking at each other's profile page and they want to monitor that.
So my advice would be to lay low here and monitor developments. I hope that I'm wrong about the bleak outlook, but these are my thoughts.
Ironically the sausage roll that sparked the nuclear option is now the butt of every joke in the Guardian with an opinion piece (with comments open) on it. Nowhere does it mention the humour bypass their mods had.

I'm assuming the sausage roll was the baby Jesus one. I missed the comments that caused the nuke.
You piss off for 20 mins to do some work...

That makes depressing reading, but I can't fault the logic.
'Gotta catch us all' indeed.

I missed the comments that caused the nuke. I posted a link to the BBC website article without comment. Then it was modded.

Pretty certain I'm in it forever.

I would have loved to have seen the meeting and or email chain about us.
I'm hoping some J Jonah Jameson level rage.
They really are being silly though.

The Guardian has taken lengths over the last 6 months or so to really limit the work needed to keep the comments in check, this was done by reducing the time comments were open for, deleting posters who were overwhelmingly pro Brexit and banning IP addresses for persistent offenders.

Whilst it's possible we are the unwitting victims of a grand conspiracy, don't forget Hanlons Razor: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity"
The Poke-pocalypse box is technically under Film, not Games. It's possible we've fallen under the remit of a different mod who doesn't appreciate a bunch of goons showing up with their crazy-talk and clamped down.
This resulted in the goons spouting more and crazier talk leading to more and stricter modding until we enter a vicious cycle of deletions and pre-modding.

The standard level of gibberish appears to be getting through. Was a mod just having a bad day?
Have we been granted reprieve from on-high?
Is it another trap?

Socky - That's what I thought at first, but remember that we started having trouble with a particular FRANK on duty already some time ago, and that the latest games review roundup was closed down very quickly.
The question is: Has anyone who had been put into premod actually been released from it? I know I haven't.

I appear still to be in pre-mod. Am I a ringleader, is that it? A Robert Catesby.
Perhaps they're determined to make an example of me?
Damn you Greggs and your sausage roll Jeebus.
