I'm just noticing that Shenguin says he's out. That's a good sign. Maybe there is some hope! Erm, I don't happen to have a girlfriend <i>at the moment</i>, but I'm not quite ready to come out just yet. The fact that you think me being out is a good sign and gives you hope is kind of hurtful, like you think women have been given a reprieve by me being out. |

Top 5 reasons for this post:
1) I need to post again to see if my avatar appears now (drawn in Excel!)
2) Destry, if there are no other volunteers, I would be willing to be an admin if you really want another one. I wouldn't call anyone the c-word, except Sheep, and other people.
3) I favour Socky's explanation of the actions of the Graun's mods. The Graun is losing money, cutting costs and probably employing the cheapest mods they can, and obviously not replacing Keef, and cutting back on games coverage. They left the review round-ups open for us for a couple of weeks for each article at first, compared to the 72 hour standard for most articles (shorter if they're contentious). We got caught by a David Elleray of a mod, having a bad day, not used to us and not used to the Games section. Off topic posting is against the community guidelines, and that was enforced in an unusual and unexpected way, evidently including pre-mod for consistently being off-topic. I got put into pre-mod (for saying I'd sleep with my clone) which I wasn't expecting, but, y'know, worse things happen at sea. From our perspective, we've gone from being encouraged, to being tolerated, to being persecuted in a very short space of time, but I don't think that requires a conspiracy, merely an unfortunate convergence of petty mindedness and ignorance (some of it probably ours; I know I don't always respond sanguinely to multiple frankings).
4) I was meant to be driving 200 miles tonight, but I suffered insomnia from 3.30am onwards this morning, so I'm drinking instead of driving. I'm also looking after my best friend this weekend (a smooth collie) which is great, and I spent most of the evening cooking for, washing up for, and generally looking after my ex because she has a bad back. (Small grrr.)
5) In an earlier post I said I wasn't out. I worry now that looked a bit asininely heteronormative. Sorry if it did.

Shenguin! Don't take it personal if I'm saying that I'm hopeful because you are out. I'm just glad you are out, that's all.
In other news, the question "anyone got any sweet gifs?" seems to have resolved itself in the course of the evening.
In other other news I think my early morning theory on events at the other place has been debunked, and I'm glad about that. I've taken off my tinfoil hat and used the foil to keep my dinner warm.
