I’m not particularly looking forward to Christmas. I think we’re going to Birmingham this year. Pushed into a warped family dynamic with alcohol and excessive heating.
I don’t think anyone wants to do it. Last year the pm and I were going to rent a place in Birmingham to go and see my dad at Christmas from there. Then he said he was going to stay with friends. My sister said he didn’t want to do anything because he thought it be too weird with me and the pm not staying in the house.
Fucking hell….
If our flat was big enough I’d invite them here. We proposed going away but my sister can’t afford it.
I need to sort things out. I just find myself returning to an image of my sister trapped in a pane of glass and floating through space ... Maybe I need to arrange for her to be thrown in jail.

Xmas is a bit strange now for me, my parents are too far away for me to drag our family there, so occasionally they stop up here. Which stresses PM out.
However all her family live around the corner, yet we only really spend Xmas day and Boxing Day with them.

Though I realised my favourite shitty centre coffee shop Tinderbox is no longer there. They have a couple of others though. I've also got a £25 cex voucher in my wallet so might pick up a game.

I don't have any family myself so we normally rotate around the Pref.Mam.'s , occasionally, like this year, I row myself out and spend Christmas day on my own.*
*Sometime it's just me and the PM.

Lazy, have you considered dealing with it by making sure you're the most dickily behaved one? If you're the most annoying person, it makes other people's shit less annoying, and they tend to want to spend less time with you.

We'll probably go to the in-laws about the 23rd till the 1st or 2nd. I get on fine with them, and I'm well fed - but I'm expected (by the pm) to fucking chat of an evening instead of plugging myself Into a gaming device. And they don't really booze. Last couple of years I've started having a couple of beers at night as they're sitting there drinking gallons of tea.
I used to get a night /day off when my pals DJ'd between Xmas & NY but they don't do it any more. Which is a shame as there were usually folk home for Xmas from that London and other places. Plus I got to get wrecked.
The true Xmas spirit.

I'm furious we aren't playing football until 27 Dec.
That means I have to spend an extra 24 hours with people. Usually I could go to the footie on 26th and make an excuse to go home on 27th Dec.
This year not so much. Plus I can't drink on 27th as kick off is 8pm and I will have to drive back from Burnley with a dozing parent in the car. And we will have lost.
On the plus side I can drink all the booze on 26th Dec instead as there is no need to be well until 4pm on 27th (technically 10pm, but a two hour trip to Burnley while feeling sick is less than ideal).

This year I will have my mum and step dad round for xmas day. Mammifere Prefere asked if they would like to visit, mum waited to accept and then told her she already had house guests coming to stay at hers so (of course) we would have to have them round too, they are more like my age than hers and she insists that they are like extended family, which they are not, and I would never in a million years have asked them to my house for xmas.
I will also have to have my dad round on his lonesome, he will be mostly silent and awkward for the duration, not bring anything at all with him, if he manages presents for the kids it would be a minor miracle, and he'll expect to be waited on hand and foot. yay!
When they all go home at the end I will be delighted.
I think you are being considerate and thoughtful to have ccomodation sorted out.

I am having a lot of fun sorting out accommodation for my relatives since there is no room for them to stay at ours for Christmas. I keep being reminded that their house is bigger, so maybe we should just go to theirs. It truly is the most wonderful, passive-aggressive time of the year.
