So......the big question of the day is...has Felice found his slippers or are they wandering lost and lonely in some unknown and unseen parallel universe ?

Hi
I’ve had a difficult 30 hours. Challenging.
On Saturday night / Sunday morning I got a visual on my nocturnal tormentor: A mouse. It was a mouse. Maybe more than one. The pm and I turned the flat over, cleaning, trying to find this mouse / these mice. I found him / it eventually, hidden behind some records.
Anyway … At 2am this morning the mouse activity began again. The pm left to sleep in the other room. I lay there, waiting for one of the traps to activate, but later making my own trap, with limited success.
At times I felt utterly hopeless. It’s so hard catching one of these things, but in the end it left through the bedroom window. I thank Jehova, and the manufacturers of the clove scented candle and plug-in sonic mouse repellents purchased by the pm.
I hope this mouse has gone for good. I really hope he had no accomplices. I hope he’s not waiting to get back in.
I’m tired.

I know I’ve gendered this mouse. It lost the right to respectful pronouns when it began waging war on my sleep.

-5 in the lean-to this morning. Makes scooping dog poop from the garden nice and easy when it's frozen as hard as a Walls pork sausage.

Is Lazy in fact a cartoon cat named Jerry?
Lots of snow and very cold. We spent over £120 on gas and electric this week.

Probably more meat than a walls pork sausage. Morning!
Bloody cold. WFH. Windows steaming up from me sitting here having the tenacity to actually breath. Window open not helping much FFS. I need Martin Lewis and various tiktok experts to appear and suck the condensation directly.

Morn'
Cor blimey, Mary Poppins, Pea Souper, 'av a banana, etc etc
I think the question that's really going to blow Lazybones mind is, how did.the mouse get in? Through the same window it left? In his blazer pocket?
OTTM, I enjoyed Appollo 13 last night. It's been ages since I saw it so that helped. Got me in the mood to watch some more space related fillums. I might re-watch Martian, or maybe Event Horizon.

The intelligence of a mouse is unsettling. Because I sleep like a tiger - with one eye open - I watched this mouse we had climbing up from behind the back of the radiator. On one occasion it stood up on its hind-legs sniffing at the air - at whatever rare aroma it had sensed. I thought, for a moment it was going to leap over to the bed. I was rather unhappy at this point. On another occasion it peered round the edge of my home-made trap and looked at me square-on: A real Mickey Mouse silhouette. Little bastard.

I tried to smoke the mouse out yesterday. With a lump of quick lighting charcoal, and frankincense and myhrr. True fact.
It didn’t work…

And have you worked out how much power your gaming rig is costing you? We have a minimum temperature set at 15 degrees and we tend to crank it up a degree or two when we are all in the house for a couple of hours. I barely get to play games so I don't think the PC is much of a factor. Of the £120 I think around £90 was gas.

It's foggy here, but not actually freezing. There is some frost, but that is left over from yesterday I think. I am cruelly and unjustly deprived of now.
When my parents had ice traps bated with Boursin worked a treat. Must have been aspiring mice. The big problem with humane traps is you have a captured live mouse to deal with.

I was planning to take the captured mouse to Hyde Park, then to let it free with a teaspoonful of peanut butter to get it on its way.
If things had got really desperate I was going to reason with it - explain how I wanted a compromise - an outcome that was best for both of us.
That actually does work with wasps.
