Safe drive rolling. We're away to Braehead and it's bad enough.

My mum and me are not bothered about Xmas so don't see each other. She is ruled by her heart instead of her head. She is having a man friend stay, she's 87 and he's 90. She thought it a good idea to invite her friend's daughter to stay. The daughter is violent and aggressive with mental health issues. Mum phoned this this morning to say that the daughter had tried to push her down the stairs and the police came round. This is a recurring thing so I could have told her that this was what the outcome would be. Don't be ruled by your heart. Just because you care and want to help use some common sense and question if your doing the right thing. And she's lost her hearing aid so it's difficult for her to hear on the phone. I'm shouting loudly and all she says is "what I can't hear you"

At the in laws today, the four legged company is fine as are those on 2 legs. Gives us a break from the one year old as all help. My parents tomorrow for more meals cooked for us.

lazybonesThere’s a lot to take in there. A lot of introspection, perhaps a small amount of paranoia too? Maybe lay off the CBD for a bit, and use some CB T. The Worry Monster is a real issue for many. So easy to be in thrall to it. If I could give you a hug, and tell you it would all be okay, I would. But all I can offer you is a virtual tip of the hat.

Whatalark - You need to make sure sure that nutcase stays away from your mum.

Morning
After a pleasant evening at the parents, the youngest started with stomach ache about midnight. This turned into vomiting violently until nothing but bile was coming out at about 5am. Seems ok now and proudly declared she'd been sick 11 times last night. We all had the same food, except one item, some mayo on a sandwich earlier in the day. So I've binned the bottle just in case it was the culprit. Either that or it's a bug and we're in for a domino effect over the next few days.
OTTM, going to make bacon and Brie sandwiches for lunch, but not for the youngest.

If she is in a house ambulance will need to section her, if outside the police can do it. Should report to the police for assault, you can report her if you know name and dob, otherwise police will try and get more details on her but sounds like she would be known. You can report her without the others being involved if needs be.

Whatalark - You need to make sure sure that nutcase stays away from your mum. Mainly she does now. My Mum thought she was doing a good deed for her friend. Both her daughters, mum's friends granddaughters are having therapy because of all the troubles she's caused. She is lucky that she has family to help her, but throws it all back in their faces. Some people you can't help. She's homeless but expects a nice bungalow in a respectable area to live in. Her dad's spent thousand's trying to help her. She was a business woman with a company worth millions, drove a Merc, 5 bedroom house etc. Now she's living in her car with absolutely nothing. We should all be grateful for our good mental health.

You can report her without the others being involved if needs be. She's been seen by mental health experts but the way the NHS is at the moment there's not the support available. She had help from a charity in Brighton when she was asked to leave Brighton Marina where she was living on a boat in the marina with her partner, he was taken into phychiatric care after having a breakdown due to her behaviours. It's continual untold stress on all the family.

Thankfully I live a few hundred miles from it all so am only involved by giving support to my mum. She has a good sense of humour so can laugh at it after a while. But mum suffers because she worries about her friend the Dad in it all.

She left when the police came round. My mum is a forgiving soul but even she will have had enough now.

In other news the car battery was flat this morning and wouldn't start. Walked to the shops and when I got to the checkout I hadn't taken any money with me. So all in all a pretty good day. I'm feeling desperate for chocolate cheesecake so might yet venture out again.

hello again
I’m on a train to Reading, to get a connecting train to London.
Birmingham was ok, on balance. Christmas Day was nice. A shame my sister stayed three nights. A shame the rancor … remained. We had a meal in a pub before the pm and I headed back. My sister inadvertently ordered a meat burger, thinking it was vegetarian. She had two or three mouthfuls before realising. Ah well.
Not much else happening to be quite honest with you.
Moribund chat.

Yeah, I usually get no more than one small mouthful from the end of the meal before I realise the rare steak and chips I ordered isn't vegetarian. It could have been jack fruit, to be fair. Edit: and they really should have sorted out their menu description of the pate de foie gras starter. It sounded to me like it was almost certainly mushroom and yeast-spread based.

Well, I don't think Linda McCartney would have sold *that*.
Or put it anywhere near her mouth.

Back on the trains (plural) heading back into the warm embrace of the M25, with a week of doing absolutely nothing to look forward to.
Mary Christmas and Harry New Year can get back in their hole until next year.

There is some good bargains on Valve games in the Steam sale. Orange Box £1.67. Or maybe Portal + Portal 2 £1.28. Valve complete pack (22 games) for £5.33.

I’m watching Countryfile. It’s based in Scotland in a sort of ‘back to the 18th century’ hamlet. There was someone cooking a clootie dumpling and the presenter was just singing Auld Lang’s Syne at a feigned Burn’s Supper. It’s made me want to go out and buy a bottle of Ardbeg. We’ve a booze deficit.
