I shall be trying this out on the housework, dog walking and going shopping. Would also benefit from time saved on washing and shaving etc.

We are just waiting to see if the next-door neighbours have another building-shattering NYE party. . A shirtless-youth eventually answered the door after I bellowed through their letterbox. “You alright?” he says, with a vacant stare. The fucking nerve. At least this will help Faceless reconstruct his missing hours.

No noise from any neighbours last night. I think the Tootsie exhausted itself in the afternoon with a couple of hours of solo Karaoke, then silence. amipal. No kids, sorry.

Early night and the child slept all the way through. Even through the fireworks going off from 9pm till whenever. No games, a bit of the last leg of the year. Finished shift before most things started kicking off last night. Which one of you was fighting and thrown out of spoons at half sixish in the evening?

Perhaps, but you are making a lot of assumptions there. It depends on a) how terrible a person you presently are, and b) how puny your arms presently are. Surely lifting dusty tomes off shelves provides your arms with a reasonable workout? If not buy some series of books with maps and spend time rearranging them. Maybe try chronologically in estimated setting date of the series? You'll need to show workings. Alternatively read about fitter people? Maybe Louis the Slim, or Charles the fairly athletic. Probably not the older Henry VIII though. And definitely not Edward IV in the 1470s.

Each series is set by the setting of its earliest book. You can't mix series. With Tolks i'd use the Silmarillion to date everything. So it starts with creation. The Kingkiller Chronicle is set in a late medieval world. It would be a challenge to decide if this is earlier or later than The Wheel of Time, The Malazan Empire books or John Gwynne's Maliceor Raymond Feist's books. This is where Rolling's skillset will be most helpful. The Clockwork Rocket is more sci-fi. So is set in the future.

When The Clockwork Rocket is set depends on how fast you're moving and in which direction. I'm sitting on the sofa at the moment, so it's set above me and to the right in time.

Morning
Considering how much I drank last night I feel good.
Today I'm making chicken stew and watching footy.
Gaymz - As mentioned last night, I played Mortal Shell for a few hours. It's a Souls clone and is pretty good. However, it sort of made me want to play an actual Souls game. The PS Store sale has Dark Souls Remastered for 17.99 and Dark Souls 2 for 7.99, neither of which I've played before. I dont know, maybe I'll stick with Mortal Shell as it was free.
OTTM, no.

Orthogonal from your position? Makes sense. You will need to climb Schild's ladder to reach it I think.

I'd say Narnia must be set chronologically earlier than Middle Earth because it had a talking lion, which is probably something from dinosaur times or thereabouts. Then after that you've got your modern day or contemporary fictions - the works of PD James, for example, or Don DeLillo, or The Bill. Finally, you've got your science fiction, which is generally set in the future.
Of course, our time will gradually move forward into science fiction time in due course, so this timeline will probably have to be updated every 3000 years or so (maybe sooner if Buck Rogers turns out to be real).
