Great letter, Easily, I don't think you sound gittish. Let us know if you hear anything back.
@crank - I played the first three Unchartereds (Uncharteredes? Uncharti?) back to back and enjoyed them a lot but weirdly I have no desire to play the new one. 2 is the best.

Morning.
There's no particular reason my text is yellow - I just like yellow. And sans serif typefaces.
Well, I wrote to the readers editor yesterday. As always when reading back an old email I now think I sound like a git, but there you go.
I thought you were remarkably restrained, certainly better than the ones I'd been thinking of sending but couldn't be bothered

No one gets modded for talking about their day and other irrelevant things on the Strictly live page. The injustice of it all. I feel faint with emotion - someone get the smelling salts.

Easily That is an excellent email!
I think that Destry's observation of Matt Kamen's Xbox article not getting the "games" tag and being filed under tech only means that we've got a much greater fight on our hands than just the Chatterbox, but also one that's easier to win because more people will be concerned with the Guardian scrapping its dedicated games section than just the end of Chatterbox. The Guardian can ill afford hemorrhaging readers, so we can all put emphasis on the importance of games coverage to us and that you are willing to move to a different publication, how long you've been reading the Guardian for, what money you've spent on them in the past (if you have) and whether they are aware how popular the feature of the Chatterbox has been with readers not only posting but also reading.

It would be interesting to see if they reply to Easily's letter, personally I think CB is gone for good and they're merging games into tech. I just went to the games section for CB, I thought their reviews were rather anodyne, but I suppose if enough people complain there may be a change

I'm vaguely aware that the Telegraph has really stepped up its games coverage, so that's something one can threaten them with.
I think it's still true that the video games industry is the fastest growing sector in entertainment, and its cultural influence is getting more and more significant. An editorial decision not to cover this is bound to drive readers away and has no hope of attracting new ones.
The writing was on the wall when Keef left and was silent on who would take over. It also looks to me as if there was more to his departure than meets the eye.
Btw, I'm now getting an ad for a device that promises perfect draught beer on tap at home. That's more like it.

Plus, I can't imagine that Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo will be happy to advertise in the Graun if their customers are being driven away.

Q? What adverts are folk getting at the bottom? I'm getting ads for Fleshlights, Chainsaws and quicklime. Just what kind of place have you brought us to Destry?

Destry, I have long been an admirer of your avatar. It seems to me to be a cowboy out in the desert - maybe New Mexico or some such place - looking at what could be a shooting star but seems more like an alien spacecraft. My only issue is the beast that the figure is riding. I assume it is supposed to be a horse, but it looks more like a dinosaur, or possibly a camel with its face punched in.
Could you you give me some clarification, please?

Long time lurker etc. I used to really enjoy reading the Chatterbox after stumbling across it one day. I think you all have many readers, possibly even fans.
The Guardian has really mishandled the situation so far. Much credit to Destry for this forum. I'm off to compose a letter to the editor and post more gibberish all over the Guardian comments section as petty revenge.
Thank you.

Easily It is a cowboy riding a capybara (a joke based on a Chumbles comment way back in the Afterbox). The original is here. As you can see, in the original the cowboy is riding a horse. I change the backdrop occasionally. The current one is from No Man's Sky with added spaceship...
