Have you ever played Horace Goes Skiing? I guess not from the ridiculous comment you posted.
Witcher 2 and Witcher 3 are great for intelligent story telling and pathos.
The Witcher (1) has these plus bugs and sex cards.

Recently I had the following exchange with Mr Enemy:
Mr E. (looking out of window): "Is it snowing? There's some white stuff flying around."
Me (chewing breakfast): "It's pollen."
Mr E. (perking up): "Porn?"
I took him aside and had to dampen his enthusiasm by explaining gently that porn doesn't usually fall from the sky and it doesn't usually make you sneeze.

Horace Goes Skiing is a Kafka-esque comment on the nightmare excesses of labyrinthine bureaucracy, as Horace attempts to apply for a ski pass and rent some skis, over and over again with no resolution, ad infinitum. No pathos. I'd put it in the same philosophical school as Papers Please rather than Rime. Horace and the Spiders, on the other hand...

Spinach, cherry tomato and tuna mayo salad, with a low carb protein bar (cookies and cream flavour) to keep the sweet cravings at bay.
Hit my initial target weight this morning (now want to lose a little more), so diet is definitely working. Feel like I should have a day off to celebrate now though. Maybe Friday . . .
