Last night was raid night so I did little else aside from play WoW. We killed first boss (technically 7th boss in dungeon but, whatevs) easily before banging our collective heads against the brick wall that was the 8th boss. 2 hours later we resigned, defeated. Oh well, only one day to wait before we go again! I had a similar experience on FFXIV, wasting two nights in a row. We'd reached a boss in the latest expansion where you needed to zoom the camera out to see the boss's attacks. Both times my friend kept dying over and over until the randos we were playing with tired of giving him advice and gave up. He then admitted that, after playing for a year and a half, he hadn't learned how to zoom out the camera. This, despite me telling how to do it months ago in whatsapp and him replying "Thanks, I'll remember that". I think we'd only got so far because we started late and whoever joined the our party was likely to be massively overpowered. I have cancelled my subscription. Eorzea is doomed.

I used to play FFXIV too, original and again after the relaunch, dropped just before the first expansion. It always felt a vastly superior game to WoW but I still just couldn't pry myself away. The combat was much more fun. Never got into raiding on it though. Our problems were down to shitty pugs first of all then, when they left, we had two good runs at the boss (final 20% of health) but were screwed by mechanics. I'm still enjoying it though so that's a good* sign. *Not for you guys, more raid updates for you to ignore!

Afternoon Le Box
Little gaming over the weekend due to having a 5 yr old stay over in the 'games room' so all my toys had to be put away in favour of pink ponies and balls of fluffy bouncy slimey stuff. I have also been subjected to hours and hours of Ryans Toy Review videos, and am now considering therapy and/or mindbleach.
Breakfast - 2 nanas - coffee lunch - egg mayo/ bacon sarnie, popcorn - more coffee
What gaming there was consisted mainly of Wreckfest - now working back through the junior leagues. No shootybangbang as might offend the littlun, although if I ever meet Ryan in PUBG he will find a lot of lead heading his way..... most of which will probably miss, the way i'm playing lately

Never heard of Motown? Heard the music, but wasn't aware of the label, sound, Berry Gordy etc? Or none of the above. I'm flabbergasted. Ten have you read 'Detroit 67' by Stuart Cosgrove? Interesting read. None of the above. Sigh. Unfortunately my father is no longer around, he would have given him a whole lecture on the topic, but I'm doing my best. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll give that a read. I introduced Mr Enemy only recently to the Shawshank Redemption (naturally he'd never seen it), and it instantly became his favourite film (before that it had been The Sting). He was telling everyone that they should see it, and it's quite interesting how many people haven't, considering that it had such a mediocre reception at its cinematic release and only became popular through word of mouth, video release and television screening.

You either get busy living, or get busy watching films that were critically mauled on release

Who is building a Tiki bar? And when is the first cocktail being served?
Secondly, who is the Scuba diver in Thailand who frequents the Gamesblog?
I need tips for next Feb.

It always felt a vastly superior game to WoW WoW is like a million years old, to be fair. Never got into raiding on it though. Us neither. Me and my mate came to FFXIV from other FF games, rather that other MMORPGs, so we we're there for the story and not much else. Any deviance from the classic incremental stat increase and near-guaranteed victory formula we've been weaned on was always going to result in us giving up.

Last exam finished. Four quick pints and off home to change my trousers after some prick spilled a pint of Guinness over me.
Will be setting up the PS4 before heading out for a night with the young team before staggering home for some late night gaming.
Lunch - cheese sandwich.
