Lots of students do tend to be taking life badly at the moment. Maybe they always did. I’m not sure if people’s mental health problems have got worse. Maybe it’s just easier to talk about them now.
About ten years ago I was on my way to see a psychotherapist after work. I found myself on the train with a work colleague I didn’t know that well. He asked me where I was going and I told him but I was quite embarrassed. If it happened now I would leap up and bellow it into his astonished face.
