I use Wise (formerly TransferWise). I've found them to be very reliable, and they issue a free debit card. They're about the cheapest way of converting currencies that I can find, and you can use the card abroad easily to pay for stuff or take out cash with minimal charges. Also useful if you ever want to make payments in other currencies so you can buy weird books from Australia or America that aren't published in the UK. Much cheaper than a high street bank or the Post Office. Obviously I don't ever actually travel anywhere, because I'm working instead. OTTM: I see the bullying clique is now denying its own existence, and using more subtle menaces to get people to "lend" them lunch money. Voudriez-vous des frites avec ça?

Thanks to the dose of morphine, I had the dubious pleasure of being woken from a 5h death grip sleep at 7.15 a.m. by a freezing cold flannel up the jacksie. That's better than anything I've heard from 'As Yet Untitled'.
"I'm Alan Davies and you've been watching 'A freezing cold flannel up the jacksie'"
I can see it now.

Thanks . but the Paradox takeover effectively turn it towards more of a wargame; a bit like the difference between Civ IV and Civ V

Crank, If you are approached by a young woman with a clipboard near the Eiffel Tower it is either: (i) The resistance leader from 'Allo Allo (ii) A scam whereby you'll be asked to help by answering questions. Then a group will surround you, making a fuss and clearing out your pockets in the process. Saw it happen when visiting a few years ago. Also the view from the top of the Galeries Lafayette is free and quite wonderful. Agreed

Another hour or so to go: The white stuff is Béchamel sauce, which I could have made nearer the time but after a few glasses of cooking wine* I decided to make early. Also there's enough sauce for three meals for 2 people. *good wine that you drink whilst cooking. <edit>The bolognaise sauce is still simmering the other one will be heated up at the time, also I will blanch the pasta before assembly.

This just popped into my head. No idea why… Toon, as soon as I heard Nina Persso* I thought of this; which is appropriate with the driving people here. *<edit>Yes I had to look her name up.

Are you including aromat and mustard in the cheese sauce? It's not a cheese sauce, I'm sticking with the Marcella Hazan recipe, though an addition of mustard powder sounds nice.
