GGB Chatterbox is a forum where thousands of gamers gather to share their thoughts, their frustrations, and their dreams. But as I delved deeper into this virtual world, I was struck by the utter chaos and heartlessness that dominates it. No joy, no connection, no understanding - only a vast expanse of meaningless chatter, fueled by the endless pursuit of virtual rewards.
As I explored this world, I was reminded of the tragedy of Grizzly Man - the tale of a man who sought to connect with nature, only to be consumed by its heartlessness. In this digital realm, the heartlessness of nature is writ large, as humans are reduced to mere avatars, their emotions and desires stripped away by the cold, uncaring algorithms that govern this world.

So after watching Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle this weekend, here is a list of my top 5 Studio Ghibli movies, for no reason and no one asked for.
1. My Neighbour Totoro
2. Howl's Moving Castle
3. Princess Mononoke
4. Spirited Away
5. Whisper of the Heart

I had a chance to buy tickets for the RSC's My Neighbour Totoro at the Barbican when it was first on, I decide to wait, the next day it got rave reviews and was sold out next time I looked.
Moral: Carpe Diem.
I've just booked two tickets for the show which returns in November this year, so the Prefs.Mam. Birthday and Christmas present have been sorted.

Very many years ago I was offered tickets for a London show that I'd not heard of and I said no thanks. I was a member of The Anti Slavery League I think it was and they invited me. It was only afterwards that I saw that it was the Royal Gala performance for Miss Saigon attended by the princess Diana. Have always regretted saying no and missing out on meeting Princess Di.

I want to watch The Expanse again, but I cannot wipe the prime video series history, so that i can watch it again; the only guidance that I can find on this doesn't give me the the option of wiping the history.

Browning the mince was a bit of a trial though.

Morning comrades!
As it was a lovely hot sunny day, I decided to ruin Greta's future, chuck 'No Mo May' in the bin a gave my lawn it's first cut of the year. Hurrah!
Later I made a Goan pork vindaloo. Morrisons didn't have my usual pork fillet/tenderloin, so I got the butcher with the big chopper to dice me up a pork loin joint.
Celebration of Big eared boy having a certain bloodline concert. Probably give it a miss. Unless our true king Morrissey is on?
OTTM, these last two weeks of having Mondays off work really makes me want to go down to four days a week permanently. *checks bank account* Oh.

Hello Today is Mrs D's birthday. We are off to see the Van Gogh Immersive Experience followed by lunch at The Ivy Brasserie, Victoria. Tell us what you both had and whether you liked it please. Also Happy Birthday Mrs D. Okay. amipal - The van gogh thing is really impressive. 4 stars. Felice - Mrs D and my eldest had the cod, chips and mushy peas. They enjoyed it although the portions had shrunk from the last time they had it. I had the blackened cod fillet with a soy and sesame marinade, citrus-pickled fennel and grilled broccoli. Really nice, A bottle of white wine with the meal and spicy margarita cocktails to finish. Would recommend. |
