Passengers are bracing for the first of three rail strikes this week as services in England come to a standstill amid a long-running dispute over pay and conditions. What does "stick the needle in..." mean? I understand it is a phrase used by youths. Asking for a friend. I'd take a guess that it's a pretty old saying. Maybe something to do with sail making for sailing ships. In Mr Tiddles case Voodoo dolls would spring to mind. |

I imagine ‘Stick the needle’ in as a bit like ‘Stick the boot in’. Urban Dictionary has references to needles as a kind of sex thing. That site is an absolute disgrace.

Restart complete and both phones for both phones now need recharging. After some toing and froing by SMS, my friend next door who had deferred some help for me last Wednesday until the weekend, and then until today.
I rang him. "I'm looking up at the Shard. Don't you remember - I'm working today, I can give you a couple of minutes on my way home." You can guess can guess that there is going to be some robust clarification about honesty, dependency etc. I'm pretty sure he's volunteered to work to get extra cash.
I will be upset, if he cans the relationship and I will be sad, and in some difficulty, but too many elderly are blackmailed by their dependency.

"Stick a needle in my eye if this isn't true" I am not claiming that this is actually right, but it looks reasonable. Either that or it is Crankcaller asking someone to shoot him full of drugs. |
