Watched last episode of Longmire, got to wait till next year now for new series.

Morning all,
Real struggle to come in this morning. Cycling in the cold and wet isn't as pleasant as it could be.
Since I've been on here most of the weekend a quick summary for those who are uninterested: zelda, Mario, duck and waffle, a book (walking home from Mongolia) all the booze. Mostly red wine.

I think I am nearing the end of Doom now, spent a while travelling along a massive pipe and then hit a huge bunch of bad guys and got killed twice. Got the mega shotgun now to.
The new Punisher series is looking good so far.

Can't get out of bed these mornings.

Uncharted 4. In the home stretch - Chapter 19. Managed to do the last two without any googling. Strictly bronze rewards though. If I can finish it in the next week or so that will be two games complete in the last month. Go me, powergamer.

None really. Got the next MrRobot for train 2 of the commute. Which leads nicely on to...
Commute chat.
Passive aggressive arsehole and wife with three bags, two umbrellas and a suit in a holder with them on the floor in front of them trying to block folk from using seats as its a narrow space. Asked if he wanted me to put them up on the racks above the seats if he couldn't manage. He wasn't best pleased. I love chopsing folk on the train.

All games are games, unless you talk about them on the Guardian, then only Super Tennis is a game.
My old folks were over at the weekend. Me and Old Man Zord got hammered and we all ate too much. All the stars.
Me and Mrs Zord started making a new headboard for the bed, since the poor choice of an iron bedstead is a right bastard on the back. We ran out of foam. No stars.
Today I will be trying not to get fired by not kicking the new guy in the teeth when he asks another stupid question.

Oh games? Yeah I played some MGS V, but thats not what we are here to talk about.

Football blog: Birmingham deserved the victory over Notts F. It was a decent display, though nervy at times, and a little on the cool side. It may be time to find my gloves.
Games blog: not so much.
Curry blog: almost too much. I may have leftovers for dinner tonight.
Dog blog: some very enjoyable walks, and excellent company.

My weekend was MGSV and Punisher. We also got a bit festive so I started drinking port and we booked our Christmas delivery slot for food shopping. Unfortunately I have to work for the next 5 weeks. Bit shit.

Mugabe is a bit like the 'box if you think about it. A long lasting reign well and truly obliterated, has one last moment to move on in enforced dignity and he spouts some absolute shit and carries on like nothing happened.

I've got nearly 70 recommends for sarcastically telling someone to read Wikipedia, on a subject I know nothing about. Incredibly empowering, I never got that kind of validation for my ignorance from the curmudgeons on the Chatterbox. Surely only a matter of time before I join JBG in the Guardian Pick hall of fame.

So the pattern regarding games coverage seems to be that it's only done by freelancers writing for the Observer and is filed in the tech section. If it's published at the weekend like Matt Kamen's article on the Xbox One X then they won't open comments. The games review roundup has comments open but gets delayed until Monday morning. The only direct link to the games section is under Culture, which is now devoid of new content.
I wanted to know what exactly is happening before I wrote to the Guardian. I'm also planning to make Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony aware of the situation. The demise of the Chatterbox is in no one's interest, but particularly not in theirs as advertisers. I believe that I can make that case, and their word would carry more weight than the readers' alone. Might as well exert whatever consumer power we've got. I can't do this today, so I hope that I will have enough time later this week. |
