In order to play the new games coming out I've ordered an Xbox x. Same day delivery so should get it this afternoon. Just opened my post and HMRC tell me they want to give me back some tax as I have paid them to much. So basically HMRC have nearly paid for my Xbox. What wonderful people tax collectors are.

Morning futurists!
Work is suggesting getting everyone a subscription to ChatGPT 4 to be more 'productive'. Perhaps I can outsource all my email replies to AI. Everyone else will do the same and it will just be the machine talking to the machine. Wide Andy would of loved this.
Ganes - Final Fucking Fantasy XVI. Smashed fafnir, smashed some wind angel thing. Top banana.

I will chat about what I have been doing, but I think that might drive people away.
Books The Bible A History Of The Book. It's both incredibly dry and genuinely fascinating. If you want to know about St Jerome, the Vulgate, the Codex Vaticanus and medieval manuscripts it is a good place to start.
I am also reading a fairly dense book with maps. It's the fourth in the series. I am enjoying it.
Apart from this I have updated my football spreadsheet for grounds visited. It has nice colours and everything. It is very ready for the new season.
Work I am waiting for a client to get some information to me. I need to do the work by Friday. He has had 8 month 3 weeks and 4/7 of the last week to get the info in. I do not have it. I have chased for it a few times.

I only used standard colours. I didn't need any form of purple.

Sheep2 Is that Bible book the one by John Barton? I've got that. Not read it, obviously. No. If you mean A History of the Bible: The Book and Its Faiths then I have read and enjoyed that. I also have The Word: On the Translation of the Bible by John Barton. It is new. I have not yet read it. The Book I am reading is The Book A History Of The Bible by Christopher de Hamel The JB book was about the text itself and its contents. This is about the history of the manuscripts and print editions. It has lots of pictures. Which is nice as the text is quite dry. I am a big fan of Christopher de Hamel's books. They are beautiful. He is a manuscript expert rather than a historian, though obviously they overlap. It is the illustrated bits I am more interested in. I can't read the actual Latin texts. Half the time I can't even tell where one word ends and another begins. I would definitely recommend them as books where you can idly glance through the pictures and ignore the somewhat dry text.

Hi guys
I've had a wobble with my health. I had bipolar disorder in my late twenties and early thirties but other than a few bits of low mood, nothing much in the last fifteen years - I came off the meds ages ago. But - I buried my dad last month and had been drinking a lot anyway (& grief and booze have been triggers for me in the past) and had a 'bit' of a manic episode towards the end of May. I ordered thousands of pounds worth of music studio equipment and a keyboard that I don't particularly want or need, and had some quite high profile and energetic (and occasionally threatening) extended arguments on social media with local Tory politicians, loudmouths on local Facebook groups, and members of my kids' school governing board which are embarrassing to read back and don't feel like they came from me. Mortifying.
Managed to send (nearly) all the expensive stuff back, and got early intervention on the mental health problems - and I'm back on mood stabilisers for the foreseeable future. Part of the program I made with the therapist was agreeing some managed time away from social media so I haven't posted online anywhere for a bit. I've deleted Facebook and haven't looked on twitter for 30 days, don't miss either. I do miss the ongoing cloud of lukewarm guff from chatterbox though, so hoping to ease back in in here.
It's been a challenging 12 months, I hope you'll stick with me while the banter thermostat gets back up to tepid
Hope you're all well
Been playing a lot of tears of the kingdom, was a useful crutch when I was an in patient for a week. Anyone else?

I wonder if TentHen is playing it, wherever she is

Mainly doing shrines and towers I wonder if TentHen is playing it, wherever she is Re: tenthen - I wondered the same. I hope the volcano fortress affords enough WiFi to have DL'd the performance updates I had 8 days, 7 nights in hospital, and I'm still only sleeping 2-4 hrs a night while I come back down to earth as such I've managed about 170 hrs on TOTK since I started playing a week or so after it came out - its been a good leveller for me (I think) As always I've been going sideways not forwards - hoovering up all the side content and shrines before advancing the plot. I know when I beat the baddie my interest will drop off, so I'm enjoying taking as much of it in as I can in the interim

muffrat you’re doing the right thing and talking, even if it’s to this cloud of lukewarm gufferers. Whatever helps you get back on course. Ups and downs are part of that. I’ll shut up now.
