In order to play the new games coming out I've ordered an Xbox x. Same day delivery so should get it this afternoon. Just opened my post and HMRC tell me they want to give me back some tax as I have paid them to (sic) much.

Sheep2 Is that Bible book the one by John Barton? I've got that. Not read it, obviously. No. If you mean A History of the Bible: The Book and Its Faiths then I have read and enjoyed that. I also have The Word: On the Translation of the Bible by John Barton. It is new. I have not yet read it. The Book I am reading is The Book A History Of The Bible by Christopher de Hamel The JB book was about the text itself and its contents. This is about the history of the manuscripts and print editions. It has lots of pictures. Which is nice as the text is quite dry. I am a big fan of Christopher de Hamel's books. They are beautiful. He is a manuscript expert rather than a historian, though obviously they overlap. It is the illustrated bits I am more interested in. I can't read the actual Latin texts. Half the time I can't even tell where one word ends and another begins. I would definitely recommend them as books where you can idly glance through the pictures and ignore the somewhat dry text. That looks good. I have that other CdH book, which I haven't read. I once had a close-up session (steady on Tuffers) with one of the original copies of Domesday Book. The thrill lasted a few minutes then I got bored. It's just a load of notes made by dead accountants.

Just opened my post and HMRC tell me they want to give me back some tax as I have paid them to much. So basically HMRC have nearly paid for my Xbox. What wonderful people tax collectors are. We've had a similar occurrence here today - PM and me have received identical letters from Halifax bank, telling us they're refunding the arrangement fee from our joint mortgage, from three mortgages and twelve years ago (no indication why they might be doing so). Almost feels like a scam because it's so unexpected - but I've checked the roll numbers from old paperwork and it all (seems to) check out. With compound interest it's over three grand... Xboxes are on me I guess

I just need to work on the baseline, melody, drum programming and extensive cringy back catalogue and I'll be there on the pyramid stage with a gold jacket and titanium hips in 30ish years. You've got that long to save up for a shit pink three piece suit. Our time will come. (And thanks)

The thrill lasted a few minutes then I got bored. It's just a load of notes made by dead accountants. That's the problem with medieval books. Bibles Bible commentaries Exchequer Rolls A few bits of classical writing and the odd poem. Most of which somehow manages to be worse than the bible commentaries. Basically and Accountancy or God. The occasional snotty commentary by some bishop complaining how shit the king/emperor is and how much better it would be if he were archbishop l/Pope. I did some stuff for the modern Domesday project back in 1985_86 at school. A small amount. It wasn't very interesting, but I did my bit. I had forgotten about it until I saw a few years ago that all the information is stored electronically on disks that can't be read. They have completely lost access to it. They were worried that even trying to read it would both fail and destroy the information. At least illustrated manuscripts have artistic value.

You got an iPad? Check out Logic Pro on that. It's a subscription though. I've got Reason on the laptop which I've used for a long time and continues to be great, a few nice bits of hardware, and about 2Tb of samples and bits and bobs of tunes and ideas from the last 30 years on various hard drives (and optical media, and even floppies). Somehow they've yet to be assembled into the groundbreaking piece of work that I hear in my head. It's coming though - I feel like I'm a good 10% closer than I was in 2002 I like the look of Logic, but the idea of learning a new workflow at my age seems daunting. To be fair I don't think it's the platform that's holding me back, I think I probably need some new cool trousers and some better PR, maybe a haircut? And probably to quit my job and go full time. I'll discuss it with my wife

Hello again
Just watched Braven on ITVX. It was bollocks. I quite enjoyed it.
No stars *

Fucksake muffrat, whatever. You don't even bother asking how I've been. As it happens, it's been a traumatic time for me. I was at work until 21.30 tonight, and then when I went to the Co-op on the way to the pub, they'd run out of egg sandwiches, so I had to have cheese. Worst Life Ever.
