Does Tebay Services have a really bad reputation? It is the most middle class motorway services. The original for Gloucester services. www.tebayservices.comIt sells loads of overpriced local produce. And decent if overpriced food. It's by far the best services in Northern England. I've tried all of them so you don't have to. It's at the top of the Lakes if you've not been there. Well placed for a stop on the way to or from Scotland. If I go that way I'd definitely stop there. The main problem with it is it's too busy at popular times. |

If you want bad services Old Inns on the M80 north of Glasgow is authentically terrible.
Bridgewater on the M5 is pretty bad as well.
Most of the others have gradually improved.
The worst i've ever been to were outside Genoa, they were more or less on the hard shoulder.
Really makes you appreciate even a small hedge between you and a motorway.

When I went to Venice I visited a couple of the locations used in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It really put me in touch with the history of the place.

I’ve rootled about in my heart and I think I can say ‘Refugees are welcome here’. Not right here. I think more there. This room’s quite small. The trans rights thing: From the Socialist Workers Party I don’t buy it. I think maybe I once read some of their guff and it was quite an undigested version of ‘Marxism’. 19th century Marxism. It’s possible I’m wrong. I mean almost certain. But I don’t think Karl Marx was really into the idea of individual human rights. Food for thought.
