Have a new LG 4k 55" TV replace my old 55. Wasn't sure if I'd notice the difference but am happily surprised at the difference. AC Valhalla looks impressive and Wimbledon is apparently broadcast in 4k. Which is a waste of the BBC's time as I'm not likely to watch it, but thanks all the same.

Managed to lose a stone in eighteen months and have ordered a pair of jeans in a smaller waist size to celebrate. Hoping they fit. And they are not 55".

I have an old 47" LG 3D telly, from when that was going to be the next big thing. The year i got it there was an option to watch Wimbledon in proper 3D. Camera viewpoint was a lot lower than they use normally, and the far end opponent looked about half a mile away, but when the ball came whipping in low, it was hard not to throw your chosen beverage over yourself in a reflex panic.

Morning all.
I’m still in the research phase of my next television purchase. I need a sub-50” TV without a shiny/gloss screen. And I need a way to continue to utilise my existing plug-in headphones. I’d also like an increased bit-depth, so that I can finally see smooth gradients on-screen, rather than perceptible chunks of colour.

I thought you'd have one of the hyper costly swanky Apple monitors and watch everything through that. Also 50" is too small for a really wanky TV. The 85" OLED are £9-10K. But it;s difficult to spent more than £1,500 on a sub 50" screen.

I’d also like an increased bit-depth, so that I can finally see smooth gradients on-screen, rather than perceptible chunks of colour. My research said that anything below 55" 4k wouldn't be noticeably different. A large screen can be a bit over powering in a room so I have a hand made patchwork throw that I put over it when not using. Much more interesting to look at than a blank TV screen.

I'm not sure about the whole concept of turning the screen off.

I’m not overly concerned by 4K. I’d rather have a lovely 1080p screen than more pixels.

Hello. Last night I binge-watched The Thick of It, before I knew it - it was 3.30am. Shocking.
OTTDM: When did this place become the Chtterbox?

Bonjour. Been to the Eiffel Tower. Thankfully the child didn't wish to travel up it. €40 saved.
Was busy round there strangely enough. The amount of young folk doing selfies pretending to hold it etc was wild. All being ironic or am I just an auld basturt?
We then all had a crepe in the Jardin Trocadero. When in Rome and all that.
Back at the Hotel for a bit. Child tired and complaining of the heat. 32c at Disney tomorrow will be hilarious.
