I will be going to Brussels today.

The question I’m asking is ‘Do I content myself with a banana for breakfast? or do I have a buffet breakfast in the hotel restaurant for the princely sum of €17?’

Den Haag was nice. The Hague. I went to the beach and went into a coffeeshop. Sadly on arrival there was no coffee to be found. Or seats. There was an array of exotic cannabis, though, so I purchased some of that and went on my way.

I have the feeling that the Netherlands is sometimes a bit like a computer game in which you’re told you can go anywhere you see. So you might see a mountain and head in that direction, but then you find out a bridge is broken or there’s a large, insurmountable cliff stopping you from getting to the top. There haven’t been any cliffs but there have been broken bridges. Sometimes no bridges. Like a 1970s J.G. Ballard novel - trapped in a human-made environment of cycle-lanes, car parks, business estates and canals. I got lost in my navigations towards and back from a sand dune ...

I also went to an art gallery.

The Hague is like Birmingham melded with Greenwich Village in New York. That’s my take. And it’s smaller. A bit like an upmarket Amsterdam.

I came back and had a jazz cigarette outside the hotel, then went back to my room, put on a ‘guided meditation’ and lay on the bed. This was on Spotify. It was maybe not that effective. A couple of times the person doing the guide said to ‘take a deep breath in’, but then she would digress and not say when you had to let the deep breath out.

I’m consumed with indecision ….

I read that George Osborne email. It was quite unhinged, I wonder if any of it is true.

I've not heard about it nor read it. But nowadays that doesn't stop me from having an opinion and saying it's most definitely true.

Take advantage of hotel buffet breakfast breaded products and cold meats (ok not for you) and cheeses and fruit to make a delicious packed lunch for that day. Making the most of your €17. Having food bags with you and a man satchel to smuggle them out helps.

Last night we watched the last episode of DeadLoch - the Aussie comedy/detective thing on Prime. Very funny and worth a watch.

Started Far Cry 6.

Need to crack on with work and I'm waiting on a school librarian send me a couple of spreadsheets I need to pass on to someone else. She told me she'd email them while I was on holiday. Pah.

Apparently Oxenfree 2 is out. If I were capable of experiencing emotions I might be slightly excited
