Why can't people just save stuff in Windows folders anymore? I am resolutely refusing to do use Teams shared folders or any of that. Helps that I'm essentially a team of one.

Aaaaagggggggggghh. So we've got a shared drive at work that's basically a windows share. Searching it will find you a file with a name of your search, but doesn't find your search term inside a file. SharePoint apparently will let you search inside a file for your search term. We have O365 and therefore SharePoint but we've to continue to use the useless shared drive for foreseeable future. I need to find a password that some cunt deleted from where I had it and moved it. But they don't remember fucking where. This is exactly why I have the same password for everything on post it notes, note pads etc, for both work passwords and personal stuff like banking. |

Did I mention that I fell over yesterday? I came out of the kitchen and one of my slippers 'slipped off', thus catapulting me into the living room where I slid along the carpet (face down) for a bit. Only my robust physique and the skin on my left elbow/knee saved me. Had a fall. Not fell over. It's the slippers, and having a fall at home that give the game away. I work with someone who is genuinely an idiot. I don't know how she manages to survive without full time support. Anyway, she's just told me that when she was in the office yesterday she saw one of the exec directors, and thought it would be a good opportunity to let them know about all the problems we have in our team, and how much we have to fudge stuff to make it look like we're not a complete shambles. "Hopefully now they'll be able to sort it out for us"
I can't see that ending well

Was in work yesterday and one of the cleaners approached me and began to drone on about all the problems they have in their team, and how they have to fudge stuff to make it look like they're not a complete shambles. I mean how difficult can it be to clean the urinals and toilets and do a bit of hoovering? Anyway, I think it was this nerdy cleaner that put her up to it, he's such a loser, even all the other cleaners bully him and hate his guts.

Then she came and told us that she had done this, absolutely convinced she had done everyone a favour by 'clearing the air'. Then she went off to her new job, several hundred miles away. |

Bumped into one of the bigwigs at work yesterday. I explained the risks of focusing on narrow metrics, which can lead to management focus being on what is measured rather than genuine performance and team-driven goal-achievement.
To he honest, he gave me short shrift and told me to get on with the mopping.

Morning. Very tired today. I sat up to watch a football match until 3am and only got 4 hours sleep. A foolish choice. Beforehand I watched the last episode of the Sixth Commandment, and another episode of Enterprise (I've been watching all of star trek for the first time over the last few years). I also painted some toy soldiers. It's boring. But it's my life. I managed a very quick painting session, slapping some Vallejo Game Colo(u)r on some Dwarfs. That’s because I suddenly realised I have less than a week to go til a Warhammer Fantasy battle. And that’s on top of the Imperial Guard stuff I need for my Plymouth trip in October. Bleurgh. |
