I should've made it clear. It's the built-in touchpad that isn't working due to an issue with the driver. Now then, I don't have an actual mouse, but if I did, would it use a different driver and therefore work? @kane. Thicko. It depends what the problem is. If the trackpad is broken a USB mouse will be fine. If the laptop is fucked then maybe less so. It's difficult to diagnose remotely. It should download a driver though. A new mouse is from £8 from Jeff or £9 from Currys |

Have you checked that the touchpad is switched on?
Settings>Devices>Touchpad

Theres a function key lock on my work laptop that doesn't switch off.
I turned it on by accident, but googling the fix doesn't sort it.
By that I mean, trying what the fix is supposed to be, not just googling it and hoping that fixes it by just searching.
