A nice day yesterday. We went out and it began to rain, so we had no other choice than to duck into a coffee shop located on a barge. The table we sat on was quite large and there was another man there. He was friendly - making available the ashtray and a tiny metal table bin for depositing used fruit teabags.
I now understand the man may have wanted some social interaction. He was looking over as we laid out the cards for the card game ‘Jabba’s Palace’. I wondered if we should invite him in but actually we were re-acquainting ourselves with the rules. And I was feeling a bit antsy due to the effects of ‘’de stoefe’. At one point the man made eye contact with me, gestured to the cannabis cigarette he had and said ‘Strong!’ I acknowledged but … I let him down conversationally.
On another table a woman engaged a young man with headphones, showing him a picture she had done. Apparently it was a sort of stick person painting but she said it meant more than could be explained in just a few minutes.
The man on our table left. When I looked up he did not make eye contact. I felt I had been like a chilly, non-conversational visitor from London … I think, if we’d been in a busy, boozy, bar the conversation would have come more naturally.
I also lost at Jabba’s Palace …

Also on "de stoefe" last night.
Via a tasty tangy chew. Managed to only have 2/3rd which is more than enough without being greedy. I also had some Elvis juice that I've not had in ages.
A little HZD.
We watched the final Morning Show of the series and more Minx.
When the PM went to bed I fired up some music software on the iPad. Heavy Ross from Friends on the stairs with his keyboard vibes. Actual Ross from Friends, not the hipster musician Ross from Friends. Got it?
Going to roast an Aubergine soon for part of tonight's Levantine feast.

Hello. I spent some of this morning in a dystopian shopping centre in Edinburgh. As I walked out of HMV I noticed everyone was standing still and staring at the ground, but I kept walking. It was only 5 minutes later that I realised I'd broken protocol on the minute's silence. Thinking back, I also got a glare from one of the lads selling poppies.
