My trick is to read all the reviews and what people say, then buy the Sony TV/Receiver/whatever. You don't get a bargain. but I've always found Sony to be reliable*.
The most annoying thing is their TVs become obselete before they break. I still have a Sony DVD recorder from 2005 (from just before PVRs became popular. It's fine, but lacks HDMI so is not plugged in. I am reluctant to dispose of it because I have a few DVDr-/+ I can only watch through it. I think there are some music videos I recorded from VHS on to DVD and a few old football games.
Though none of my audio equipment is Sony these days. Rega/Marantz/Marantz/Cambridge Audio/Monitor Audio speakers. I would have bought the Sony streamer but it was only out for a couple of years and was ridiculously expensive. and I already had streamers at that point.
*I think my 2000 Sony CD player might be broken. I am not sure. It might just not be connected up to the stereo properly. I haven't used it for about 10 years.

The trick to reviews being useful is to judge whether the reviewer is a similar sort of person to you or not. So I should go with the reviews from cunts? Got it!

I saw a negative review for an LG TV because all the connections were on the left hand side rather than the back. Just what I wanted. So I bought a TV because of a negative review.

We're in the process of buying a new TV. Too. Many. Choices. You're as well not watching or reading reviews. People are cunts. We're after a 43". Under say £450. There's a TCL with all the specs that looks great, but apparently the interface is laggy and sound not great. But all TV's have shit sound now. I'm tempted. But I dunno. So there's an LG, a Panasonic, a Samsung. All with mixed reviews. Folk say they are great and then you read say, which and they give it 50%. Do we really need Atmos? Probably not, but it would be nice. Do you believe the 40 folk who say they're happy with the TV, or that guy who sent it back because of some slight. Aaaaggggghhhhh. I’ve been looking at buying a new telly for over a year, and still no closer to making a decision.

Buy the biggest, best telly you can afford. You won't regret it. Also, make sure it's 4K resolution and at some point plan to add a soundbar (with subwoofer if you have either a detached house or hate your neighbours).

I think TV buying is in a good spot at the moment. There's no game changing technology out there. I'm sure 4K/120Hz HDMI and pass throughs are nice, but they aren't essential. Same with the various HDR stuff The cheaper sets look ok when I've seen them. It's not that a big £3,000 set won't get you a nicer picture, but the difference is marginal. Especially for smaller sets. I haven't seen any sets that looked very blocky rescently. Not that I have looked much. I think it's almost impossible to get a set without Amazon/Netflix/ Apple/Disney built in now. If something new comes out you'll need a dongle/box anyway or get it through a console. So if you are ok with the picture whatever you buy should be good for the next few years.
I always think you shouldn't look at other TVs for a while after you get one.

The only reason I go to bed at all is because my child brain gets 'told' to by my adult brain in no uncertain terms "Go to bed or else" no games/movie.. That is no way to talk about your PM.

I actually picked up some nice Timberland boots recently as I felt like treating myself. They look nice but they're hard to put or pull off.

When I was at university Timberland was very popular among the posh wanker set. This was Bristol so about 50% of the male students wore Timberland boots.

The TV I bought the other day was 170 quid in the sale. Looks and operates more than well enough, and once I get a speaker the sound will be fine too. You surely can't go wrong if even the shit ones are good enough these days.

The biggest problem is the poor choice of program to watch. No TV can make up for terrible lifestyle choices.

I watched Assassin's Creed last night. It has a pretty good cast. Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons.
It's not a disastrous film, but it isn't particularly good. It felt like a game adaption rather than a film in its own right.
4* Recommended
I'm going to watch the bonus material when I get home and hopefully watch Oppenheimer later.
