"Gavin" and the lads are coming to sort the fridge door. Either that or give me a kicking for my cheek. Maybe it's James Corden as part of some TV prank? They are on stop 9. We are stop 11. Pretty sure this is a different name from the last time so hoping different guys to stop any awks.
Went to my pals last night. He has purchased some Meta/Ray Bans that record video, play music etc. Quite cool, though I'd want full terminator information on the lens.
Been reading that the Plex client on smart TV's out with Android ones is gash, so probably going to keep the Apple TV box plugged in and running.
No games.

hallo
I was just reading about the cartoon strip ‘Lazy Bones’. The main character was apparently called ‘Benny Bones’. (Benjamin Bones? Benson Bones?)
The strip moved from Whizzer and Chips to Buster in 1990. When Buster folded in 2000 it was revealed that Benny Bones had in fact just been suffering from insomnia all along …
On a train.

Trains are not a good place to suffer insomnia.
I've always found them quite restful

The closest I've ever been to a mental breakdown just happened. The lads came and fixed the fridge door. Two min job. Showed me the doors smoothly opening and closing. Flush fitting etc.
Off they went. They hadn't moved it quite back into position. So I did.
One of the legs underneath hadn't been screwed in properly and came out. Making the fridge unsteady. Struggled to hold the fridge at an angle whilst screwing it back in.
Primal Screams were emitted. Cries of "you're a fucking weakling" at the top of my voice. It was like Dr David Banner trying to get the car door open.
The neighbours probably heard all this. It's back in now. Four stars. Wouldn't recommend.
I just couldn't face the fight with the pm when she would of accused me of not checking the work before they left.
Drink?

Audiobookblog.... Neuromancer, by William Gibson. A book i've oft heard of but never read. Considering it is almost 40 years old it still seems waaaay ahead of it's time. Extreme body modding, the 'Matrix' as a VR construct you could jack into (15 years before the first Matrix film), AI both benevolent and sinister, cryogenics, mega-corps ..... you name it. All very relevant today, and mind blowing that when it was written I was still piddling around on a ZX Spectrum in 6th Form. How the hell did this pass me by?

Cyberpunk started as a literary genre. Gibson in particular, but there were other authors. To be fair it took a lot of inspiration from Philip K Dick and other earlier authors as well as 70's and 80s sci-fi films. Blade Runner which came out a nit before Neuromancer is a cyberpunk film in some ways. I'd be amazed if Gibson hadn't seen it. Also Tron looks like a big influence.
If you read 'classic' sci-fi there are lots of ideas that obviously inspired Cyberpunk. I've read quite a bit of Asimov recently. There's a lot of ideas in it. Some of them casually tossed out. It's also not that well written and is astonishingly dated in some ways.
The Matrix was obviously inspired by books like Neuromancer and Snow Crash (Neal Stephenson). There was also a lot of stuff that wasn't cyberpunk, but could be cyberpunk adjacent - Ian M Banks for example

I read Neuromancer a couple of years ago. I liked it, but loads of it went over my head
I've just finished Surface Detail by the late great Iain M Banks. Lots of simulation/VR shenanigans going on there

Morning
I used to love ALL the comics when I was a youngling. Beano, Dandy, Beezer, Whizzer & Chips, all the classics.
Cold out there today. Thankfully, I am not leaving my crib. Why?..
There's a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna do? There's a rat in me kitchen what am I gonna go? I'm gonna fix that rat that's what I'm gonna do, I'm gonna fix that rat..
Not really, just had that in my head earlier, bit weird.
OTTM, making Kashmiri Chicken later, booyah!

Besides, I don't have any. Put the Xmas order in last night though. I did decarb some lion blonde hash I had once they left. Will add that to some coconut oil once Asda have been and have in a coffee tonight.
