I've just discovered that a lot of FLAC downloads from Bandcamp are in a form (24 bit?) that Sonos doesn't play. I think I used to know this but had forgotten. Now all I need to do is remember how to convert them to 16 bit, spends hours doing that, then never listen to the music, or just download MP3s like a pleb before not listening to them. Why is my life so hard?

But to convert the downloads, any decent audio editor should do it.
Get a free trial of Adobe Audition or nick Soundforge. Both of those have batch conversion. I'm presuming you're a Windows guy.

Not only was it a terrible game, but the best chance was spurned by Rotherham.

Can you redownload them as 16 Bit FLACs? Bandcamp doesn't seem to offer this option. I think it might be a choice made by the artistes when they upload their stuff. But even stuff from the same band seems to vary - some of it is 16 and some is 24. I think the whole thing operates on the assumption that almost everyone will default to mp3. |

I always buy FLACs from Bandcamp.
If i need to convert something i use MP3 converter. I think i paid for it. It converts almost any audio format to anything else. You can process files in bulk.
To change the data rate i use Audacity.
Though i haven't had to do it for ages.
I am furious with MakeMKV though. I couldn't get a free code for it yesterday. I suppose i could pay for it, but that doesn't seem right. I just want to remove the copy protection from two blu ray audio discs and rip them.
